It is a very charming and memorable sight. On the way back from the Rush Lake trek, the view of Golden Peak, also known locally as Spantik, is truly magical.
When the first or last rays of the sun fall on this peak, it shines like gold, hence the name 'Golden Peak'. This entire area of the Nagar Valley is unparalleled in its beauty.
Recently (mid-September 2026), a female bear and her cubs were seen roaming freely in the beautiful and colorful plains of Deosai, a stunning video of which was shared on social media by a local tourist driver. The month of September is very important for these bears as they eat as much food as possible and accumulate fat before winter sets in and the park is covered in snow, so that they can go into a long hibernation.
