VISITATION OF THE DIRECTOR GENERAL FOR STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH TO AWEIL HEALTH SCIENCES INSTITUTE FRIDAY 10 APRIL 2026.
Aweil Health Sciences Institute is honored to warmly welcome the Director General from the State Ministry of Health on the occasion of his esteemed visit to our institution.
This visited marks a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and our institute in advancing health education and service delivery. We deeply appreciate the Director Generalโs commitment to supporting the development of health training institutions and his continued efforts to ensure quality healthcare systems within the state.
During the visit, the Director General was able to engage with the administration, staff, and students, assess ongoing academic and clinical training activities, and provide valuable guidance aimed at improving standards in health sciences education. His insights and encouragement have greatly inspired both staff and students to remain dedicated to excellence, professionalism, and service to the community.
The institute expresses its sincere gratitude for the time, support, and constructive recommendations shared. We remain committed to implementing the guidance provided and to strengthening our partnership with the State Ministry of Health for the betterment of healthcare services.

The management of Aweil Health Sciences Institute proudly congratulates Mr. Peter Atak Ngor on his assignment as Head of Nursing department of Aweil Health sciences Institute. Mr Peter is a fashionable Clinical Instructor having taught in Aweil Health Sciences Institute as tutor over the past 2 years providing classroom instructions and supporting students in their clinical skills trainings at the hospital levels.
The management wishes him all the best in his new role as head of department (HOD).
Equally, we extend our deepest gratitude to the outgoing head of Nursing department Mr. Wundior Mark Guot who has been so instrumental in shaping the department of Nursing sciences over the past- close to four years.
Mark Guot recently enrolled for his Masters of Science Degree in Public Health of Upper Nile University- Juba campus, having completed his Bachelors of Nursing Degree a couple of years ago from the same prestigious national university.
While in Juba pursuing his studies, Guot shall continue to provide remote support to Aweil Health Sciences Institute especially in areas of mentorship of students undertaking their academic research.

Today 11/03/2026, the group of Senior Tutors from Aweil Health Sciences Institute headed by Deputy Principal for Admin and Finance Mr. Awach Piol went for Hospital assessment in Malualkon for possible placement of our students.
The hospital assessment was conducted to evaluate the facilityโs suitability for student clinical placement. The hospital has adequate departments and patient flow that can provide valuable learning opportunities for students. Essential services such as outpatient care, maternity, and inpatient wards are functional and supported by qualified health professionals who are able to supervise and guide students during their clinical practice.
Overall, the hospital environment is conducive for practical training, and it is recommended as a suitable site for student placement, provided that proper supervision and adherence to hospital policies are maintained.

Orientation for Medical Laboratory Students at Aweil State Hospital
Today , 24th Feb 2026, Aweil Health Sciences Institute conducted an orientation session for Medical Laboratory students ahead of their clinical placement at Aweil State Hospital
The purpose of the orientation was to acquaint students with the laboratory setting and operational procedures. Key areas covered included laboratory rules and regulations, safety guidelines, biosafety measures, proper handling and maintenance of equipment, waste disposal procedures, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Emphasis was also placed on professional conduct and discipline while in the laboratory.
The session was interactive and allowed students to seek clarification on laboratory practices prior to the commencement of practical sessions. Overall, the orientation was conducted smoothly and achieved its intended objectives.
The team was led by our dedicated Head of Medical Laboratory Department of Aweil Health Sciences Institute Mr. Isaac Dut Mariano.
We are grateful to the management of Aweil State Hospital, its staff and the leadership of the State Ministry of Health of Northern Bhar el Ghazal state.
All the very best to our students as they prepare for their practical activities to enhance their skills as they undergo the required three years theoretical and practical training for the award of Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
