But war taught our people to be afraid — afraid to build, afraid to dream, because tomorrow it could all be burned down.

The Ministry of Finance and Planning has launched a subsidized maize program at Nyinkuac market in Abyei, aimed at combating sorghum price inflation and improving affordability for households. The initiative was inaugurated by the Mayor of Abyei Municipality, Mr. Ajang Kuol Dau, and attended by key figures including Hon. Athol Nyol Mayut and Mr. Monylouk Kuol Ahol. This program, running until August, will provide essential commodities at reduced rates, easing the financial burden on citizens. Subsidized maize will be available every Tuesday and Thursday, reflecting the ministry's commitment to enhancing food security and supporting the community. 👍

SAD: Man and his wife Killed in Luacjang Cattle Camp, 5-Day-Old Baby Injured

A man and his wife were shot dead while asleep at Thiok-Kuil cattle camp in Luacjang on Saturday night.

Their five-day-old baby survived but sustained a superficial gunshot wound to the head.

The perpetrators remain unknown, and Tonj East County authorities have yet to issue an official statement.
