Chief of General Staff Santino Deng Wol told the truth. Back in 1985, at the start of our liberation struggle, only 5 soldiers were from Bahr el-Ghazal, while a whopping 1,250 were Nuer, alongside brave fighters from other tribes. It's clear most Dinka from Bahr el-Ghazal joined the fight later. Let's be real, guys - we all contributed to building this nation, and the Nuer community definitely paid a heavy price right from the beginning. The SPLM doesn't belong to one tribe alone, no way. It belongs to all of us who bled and fought for South Sudan's freedom. Nuer has made a massive contribution to this country, yajamaa 💪.

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-in-Opposition (SPLM-IO) of Dr Riek Machar has conditioned its support for President Salva Kiir’s ceasefire on the release of detainees, political dialogue, and independent mediation.

Gen. Santino Deng Wol has just declared that the era of renewed hostilities between SSPDF and SPLA-IO rebels is over, following his reappointment and resumption of command of the national army. He warmly and wholeheartedly greeted his deputy, Gen. Koang Gatkuoth Kerjiok, who doubles as Acting SPLA-IO Chief of General Staff (COGS).
