Team Let Fangak Grow is proud to share warm greetings from the Fangak Women Group in Kakuma Refugee Camp, led by Chairlady Nyayiena Gatluak.
The group has called on all Fangak youth institutions in the camp to embrace unity, fostering coexistence with other communities. Chairlady Nyayiena also stressed the importance of Community-Based Empowerment an initiative that encourages youth leadership to operate within a legal framework.
The call has been warmly received by community leaders and the Youth Union, who have praised it as a fruitful program for promoting community leadership.

Ruot Mawich Yak Deng is a prominent South Sudanese youth leader, activist, and advocate based in Rwanda. He is recognized for his leadership within the South Sudanese diaspora and his efforts to promote education, human rights, and community development.

The Youth Agenda South Sudan (YASS): Ruot serves as the President/CEO of YASS, an organization focused on empowering young people and inspiring positive change across South Sudan and the broader region.
Origin: He hails from Fangak County, Jonglei State.
Education
Academic Background: He studied Development Studies at Kigali Independent University (ULK) in Rwanda.
Research: He has authored academic research focusing on critical human rights issues, including a dissertation on preventing gender-based violence (GBV) in South Sudan.
Student Leadership: During his time at ULK, he served as the representative for the South Sudanese Students’ Association in Kigali.
Community Advocacy

Meet Kangach Mayiek Bimuon a dedicated supporter of Team Let Fangak Grow and a true community leader. Despite losing his school to conflict and floods, he continues teaching Math and English at Kuernyang Primary School. As a Senior Youth Leader in Old Fangak’s Catholic Church, he mentors the next generation with faith and resilience. Kangach proves that purpose outlasts any setback.

Who is Ruot Mawich Yak Deng?

Team Let Fangak Grow is proud and excited to share good news from Biel village.
The youth of Biel village (Bei Boma, Barbuoi Payam) have begun constructing a protective d**e after recent floods destroyed livestock, materials, and homes in the area.
Led by Mr. Jal Bol Biel, the youth mobilized tremendously for flood mitigation. Today, they successfully started the work.
Tomorrow, they will split into two groups, one will continue the d**e at Bei Boma, and the other will work on the d**e at Biel village.
