Beginner Post-menopause strength plan: bone, muscle and metabolism in 3 sessions a week.
This is a simple at-home plan for patients who are new to lifting after 40. It is not a bodybuilder split. It is the minimum effective dose to protect your bones, hold onto lean mass and keep your metabolism from going quiet.
Monday: Lower body. Goblet squat, hip hinge, step-up, plank. 3 rounds.
Wednesday: Upper body. Dumbbell row, incline press, band pull-apart, dead bug. 3 rounds.
Friday: Full body. Kettlebell deadlift, push press, farmer carry, glute bridge. 3 rounds.
Clinician-built. Save this to your fitness board.

Five clinician-tested ways to handle GLP-1 nausea before you call to lower your dose. 🌿
Most of the nausea we see in clinic is not the dose itself. It's the meal pattern the medication exposed. Try these in order, save this carousel, and give it a week before you change anything.
1. Front-load protein and water in the first 90 minutes after your dose. Small, savory, not sweet.
2. Split meals into 3 smaller ones + one 10g snack. Overfilling a slow stomach is the number one trigger we see.
3. Cut ultra-processed fried food, especially within the first 72 hours after injecting. Grease sits, and nausea follows.
4. Ginger + salt, twice a day. A pinch of salt in water with fresh ginger. Cheap, boring, and effective.
5. Move gently for 10 minutes after eating. Not a workout. A walk to the mailbox. Helps get digestion going.
If these don't ease it, message your provider. We are available to help! Sometimes the right answer IS a lower dose or nausea medication. But these suggestions help our clients a bunch.

Three numbers to check on a GLP-1 plateau before you touch your dose. 📌
1. Protein intake. If you're under 25g at breakfast, appetite loss is stealing your muscle first and the scale second. In clinic we aim for 20-30 gm per meal and 10 gm for any snack.
2. Sleep hours. Under 7 hours flattens leptin and jacks up cortisol. We've watched plateaus break on nothing more than 7 nights of 7+ hours.
3. Steps AFTER meals. Ten to fifteen minutes after eating. It improves your glucose curve more than most people realize, even at the same dose.
Try these checks upon your next plateau and see if it breaks!
Save for the next stall.

If you're shaving sleep to make time for everything else, your weight loss plan will fighting your biology: which always wins.
Here's what we see in clinic when patients log under seven hours a night, week after week:
Morning cortisol stays elevated longer than it should.
Ghrelin (the hunger hormone) climbs.
Leptin (the fullness hormone) drops.
Insulin sensitivity dips
Cravings for fast carbs spike
It's not random. It's a hormonal cascade.
Before you tighten the diet, tighten the lights-out time. A consistent 8+ hour window really helps move the scale.
We review sleep with every client not as a wellness platitude, but as part of the medical work. That's what 'evidence-based' actually means in our Metabolic Success System.

'I'm on a GLP-1 and I'm barely hungry. What do I even eat?'
We ask patients to hit three anchors, once each.
1. Minimum of 60 gm of protein per day, non negotiable first priority
2. Produce: veggies > fruit
3. 64 oz of water per day non negotiable minimum.
That is the plan, even on a low-appetite day. If you still can't hit the anchors two days in a row, that is a message to your provider so an adjustment can be made to keep you healthy.
We keep the full 4-week 30g-protein plan free in our newsletter - comment "SEND IT" if you'd like to be added to the list.

One question to bring to your next medical appointment. 💬
'What would change about my plan if my goal was to feel like my most vibrant self again, not just to hit a scale number?'
It's a quiet question, but tends to shift the room.
Because a provider who has only been thinking about your weight will reach for a different set of tools than a provider who's been thinking about your overall vitality, life, and healthspan: Your sleep, your strength, your mood, your hormones, your energy, your relationship with food, and the version of your life you actually want to be living in twelve months.
The best medical weight loss work, GLP-1 or not, starts from the second question, not the first. If your provider can't answer it, you have useful information.
If you've been carrying that question and not knowing where to take it, our free consult is built to start there.

Someone asked us last week why we keep doing this work — even on the long days, even with insurance battles, even when the inbox is full at 9pm.
It isn't the scale numbers. (Those are fun, but they aren't the real reason.)
It's the woman who told us she finally took her grandkids swimming this summer because she had enough energy and wasn't dreading the bathing suit.
It's the guy who said his teenage son noticed he was less irritable — and asked if they could start lifting together on weekends.
It's the patient who showed up to her six-month visit and said, 'I forgot what it felt like to wake up without the brain fog. I forgot this was the baseline.'
These aren't 'before and after' moments. They're real LIFE improvement moments. And they're why we keep showing up.
If you're in that in-between place — wondering if this kind of care is for you — we'd love to talk. Free consult. No pressure. Just an opportunity to be heard and see if we can help. 🤍
