Our focus is on older houses with floors that are high risk from losing too much wood from previous sanding.

We provide these homeowners with options that help them have handsome floors without the loss of any more wood. Established in 1973, the Rosebud Company uses environmentally responsible finishes and proven techniques to gently restore the inherent beauty and craftsmanship of your fine wood flooring and protect it for years of service.

Jenna and I just took on a challenging project in Candler Park that was throwing curves at us right and left. We had different areas being refinished at different times. We had substantial accumulations of old, ugly acrylics products. We had the remnants of a budding artist paint drippings on their bedroom floor and the usual accumulation of dirt and grime from the previous renters. But we had a wonderful client to work with so we decided to push the envelope and see what happened. Judge for yourself.

Years of built up acrylic “floor polish” on the left. The right is in process of receiving a Clean and Recoat. Read your cleaning bottles and inform your house cleaners to not use any product with acrylics.

Sometimes when you work above and below a wood floor solo, you need a map. I point to the issue then count over floor planks from a vent or other anomaly, and I find I’m almost 100% successful in locating it. Got some old floors that need help? Give us a call.

You walk all over me all day and never think about how tired I am.

This was an interesting job….an over-zealous contractor took to sanding the trim on this 100+ year old house unbeknownst to the homeowners and their 2 young kids. They are able to stop the sanding before more lead paint was exposed, but with an old floor with gaps, the dust was already settled. Clean and Recoat was the only way to encapsulate the lead paint and prevent it from being airborne. Jenna and I recently took on an interesting cabin project in the heart of Druid Hills. The main house dated to the 1920's but the cabin, nested in the woods at the rear of the large lot, likely dated to the 1960's and was built by the couple’s young son "to get as far away from his parents as possible". Ironically, later in his life, I met that son and believe me, he was doing his parents a favor.

The floor was an old Bruce, pre-finished, random width oak floor that had endured 60 years of wear, use and neglect. Jenna and I dished out some tough love and the owners now have a nicer looking retreat to while away their time with their family and friends.
