Natural vs. synthetic... why we use both
People ask us all the time if our scents are "all natural." The honest answer: no and we think that's a good thing.
Natural materials bring depth and complexity you can't fake. Real resins, florals, woods... they smell alive.
But nature has limits. Plenty of natural materials are heavily restricted by IFRA, the fragrance industry's safety standards, because they can sensitize skin or react badly in sunlight. Oakmoss, cinnamon, some citrus oils... the very things that make a scent feel old and haunted are often the ones capped to tiny amounts or banned outright in products that touch your skin.
Some things can't be extracted at all. You can't squeeze scent from a rainy graveyard, old leather or a cold stone chapel. Synthetics let us build those moods, keep every batch consistent and stay within safe limits.
So we blend them. Natural for soul, synthetic for reach and safety. "Natural" doesn't automatically mean safe and "synthetic" doesn't automatically mean bad.
That's the whole philosophy... make it beautiful, make it consistent, make it safe.

Look, we know our s**t is expensive... $16 for a bar of soap is no joke. We get it. But hear us out before you keep scrolling.
These bars are roughly twice the size of what you’d get at the drugstore, and stuffed with mango seed butter, avocado and baobab oils, meadowfoam and kukui nut oil, camellia oil... basically the ingredient list of a $40 face serum, except this one you get to sob into while questioning your life choices in the shower at 11pm.
Glacial marine clay, raw Dead Sea salt, amla, matcha... it’s giving skincare routine vibes, not “bar of soap that smells like a candle aisle had a nervous breakdown.”
And here’s the part that actually matters: with daily use, one bar routinely lasts around 30 days. Do the math against those $4 bars that dissolve into mush by day six. We’re not really the expensive option.
