Happy Birthday to our Dr. Lainey Quinn! 🤍

Lainey has been part of Integrative Spine & Pelvic Health almost from its infancy. She first walked through our doors as an LSU student exploring women’s health physical therapy while applying to PT school—and I don’t think either of us could have imagined the journey ahead.

Over the years, Lainey has been one of the biggest blessings to both me and this practice. She helped me start our social media, organize a growing business, and was always willing to jump in wherever she was needed. Through every season of growth and change, she has remained incredibly loyal to me, our clinic, and the vision of what we were building.

Then I had the privilege of watching her get into physical therapy school, work incredibly hard, graduate, earn that Dr. in front of her name—and come back home to ISPH as a physical therapist. 🥹

There is something so special about watching someone grow from a college student with a dream into a talented clinician caring for her own patients. I couldn’t be prouder of the therapist she has become or more grateful that she chose to build the next chapter of her career with us.

Lainey, thank you for believing in this little dream before it became what it is today. Thank you for your loyalty, your heart, your hard work, and all the years you’ve poured into ISPH.

We love you, Dr. Lainey, and we are so lucky you’re ours.

Happy Birthday! 🤍🎂

The verdict on the pelvic floor chair? đź‘€

Get a pelvic floor assessment first to make sure it’s actually the right treatment for you.

Here’s the problem: a chair treatment doesn’t tell you why you’re leaking.

Leakage can happen because your pelvic floor muscles aren’t activating or coordinating well — but it can also happen when those muscles are already too tense.

And if you’re already holding too much tension and we just keep asking those muscles to contract harder?

You could end up with a big pain in the butt. Literally. 🍑

Before you jump into a treatment, wouldn’t you rather know the root cause of your leaking?

There are SO many reasons urinary leakage can happen, and treatment shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all.
Assess first. Treat second.

A pelvic floor assessment with a trained pelvic floor physical therapist can help determine what your body actually needs.

I think it’s time I tell you why this bra means so much to me. 🎀

Years ago, a woman came to me during breast cancer treatment for bladder symptoms. But eventually, she trusted me with something much more personal:

She wanted to be able to have in*******se with her husband again without excruciating pain.

Intimacy with the person she loved mattered deeply to her.

At the time, options like vaginal estrogen were much harder for many breast cancer survivors to access. So we addressed her pelvic floor tension, used vaginal moisturizers and other therapies, and worked toward what had become incredibly important to her.

And we got there. ❤️

She was able to be intimate with her husband without pain.

She ultimately passed away from her cancer, and I still think about her. I wish she were here today to see how much more we understand about caring for women experiencing these symptoms after breast cancer treatment.

She changed me as a clinician.

She is one of the reasons I feel so called to educate and care for breast cancer survivors experiencing Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM)—the bladder, vaginal, vulvar and sexual symptoms that can accompany declining estrogen.

Women deserve to know that surviving cancer does not mean quietly accepting pain or losing intimacy.

It’s part of why I created the Pelvic Peace Foundation, and why this bra is so personal to me.

This one is for her—and for every woman who deserves not just to survive, but to feel like herself again. 🎀

Vote for my bra and help us keep this conversation going.

Your annoying painful bladder may not be your bladder. Bladder pain and recurrent UTIs can be actually due to your pelvic floor muscles. It’s your pelvic floor causing all this pain but your bladder is getting the blame.

Get pelvic floor therapy from a specialist that understands your nervous system and how it affects your pelvic floor. You don’t have to suffer anymore.
