You’ve heard “check your breasts” but what does that actually look like?
This video demonstrates up-and-down, circular, and inward-and-outward patterns for feeling your breast tissue.
The goal: get familiar with what’s normal for you so you notice any changes. Don’t forget your underarms.
Beyond lumps, look for:
• new swelling or changes in size or shape
• skin dimpling, puckering, redness, or flaking
• a ni**le newly turning inward
• ni**le discharge other than breast milk
• persistent pain in one area
Notice a new change? Contact your healthcare provider — even if you don’t feel a lump. Most breast changes aren’t cancer, but they deserve attention.
Self-checks don’t replace mammograms or your recommended screening.

Different names, same ingredient family. 🔎
Quick recap: parabens are preservatives used in some personal care products to help prevent bacteria and mold from growing, extending the shelf life of the products. However, studies suggest they may do more harm than good.
Yesterday, we explained what they are, their impacts, and why we exclude any paraben-derived ingredients. Today, we’re showing you how to recognize them.
Methylparaben, propylparaben, ethylparaben, and butylparaben are some of the common ones you may spot on an ingredient label. Notice the shared “paraben” ending? 👀

Your skincare may have a longer shelf life than your last relationship…
But how?
Parabens are synthetic preservatives that extend the shelf life of a product.
But, parabens can also weakly mimic estrogen, which has prompted research into their potential effects.
Studies suggest parabens can disrupt hormones in the body and harm fertility and reproductive organs, affect birth outcomes, and increase the risk of cancer. Plus, they can also cause skin irritation.
Healthy Hoohoo has always chosen to formulate products without parabens. Knowing what’s in your products starts with understanding the label 🩵
How do you know which products contain parabens to keep a low toxic lifestyle? Follow us and stay tuned to part 2 tomorrow.

Things we should’ve learned in health class…
Lesson #4: Perimenopause.
Think about this: while many of us were sitting in health class learning about periods, puberty and changing hormones, our moms may have been navigating an entirely different hormonal transition at the very same time.
Yet chances are, neither generation was being taught much about that one.
Perimenopause can begin as early as your late 30s, sometimes while periods are still regular, and the experience can look very different from one woman to the next. Changes may affect your cycle, sleep, mood, concentration, body temperature and more.
It’s a transition so many women will experience, and one we deserve to understand before we find ourselves in it. 🩵
And with that, our Things We Should’ve Learned in Health Class series is officially dismissed.
What’s something about your body you wish you’d actually been taught in health class?
