Beauty from Within

What Autumn Has Taught Me…
My Grandchild 🍂

My sweet grandchild, autumn has taught me More than I ever knew, And every year the leaves turn gold, I think of things I’d tell you.

I’ve learned that life has seasons, And none of them will stay, That even the most beautiful things Must sometimes fade away.

I’ve learned that time is precious, And little hands grow fast, That days we think are ordinary Become the ones we wish would last.

I’ve learned a home is not its walls, Or all the things inside, It’s laughter around the table, And having loved ones by your side.

I’ve learned that getting older Isn’t something we should fear, For every wrinkle tells a story Of the love we’ve gathered here.

I’ve learned that letting go is hard, But love is stronger still, Just like the trees that lose their leaves And stand upon the hill.

And someday, when you’re older, And autumn comes around, I hope you’ll think of all the love In the little things we found.

The walks beneath the changing trees, The hugs, the stories told, The way I held your little hand When the world was turning gold.

But most of all, my grandchild, There’s one thing I hope you see:

The greatest gift that autumn gave Was another season with you and me. 🍁❤️
