As many of you know, I’m currently on a sabbatical from working behind the chair, but my passion for healthy, conscious beauty has never wavered. It’s important to me that we’re mindful of what we put on and in our bodies, and that includes the hair we use for protective styles.

Pain has a way of demanding your attention. It can feel like a heavy shadow, following you everywhere, whispering that you’ll never escape. But what I’ve learned is that pain doesn’t have to be the end of the story—it can be the beginning of something powerful. Breathwork for Emotional Release:

Pain often lingers in the body as unprocessed emotions.
One practice I’ve used to release that tension is a breathwork exercise called…

Lion’s Breath:
•Inhale deeply through your nose, filling your lungs completely.
•Open your mouth wide, stick out your tongue, and exhale forcefully, making a “haaa” sound.

Repeat this 3–5 times, visualizing your pain leaving your body with each exhale. This exercise not only helps me feel lighter but also reminds me of the power of letting go—something I aim to teach others as part of my legacy.

This practice is simple, yet it helps me stay grounded and present—something that’s essential when offering support to others.
