October is a month to come together and support survivors and their children. While we may think of October as a month filled with treats, costumes, and fun, for many survivors, immediate needs are crucial.

Something as simple as toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, diapers (size 2/3) or trash bags can make a BIG difference to a family working to rebuild their lives.

✨ Every donation—big or small—matters.
What may seem like a small item to us can be something incredibly important to a survivor and their kids.

Today is a BIG day at Looking Glass Hair Design — we are officially 3 YEARS OPEN! 🎉✂️💇‍♀️

Three years ago, I took a HUGE leap of faith and opened the doors to what was just an idea in my head… and somehow, three years later, here we are. ❤️

Looking Glass has become so much more than a salon. It’s become a place filled with friendships, laughter, beautiful transformations, talented people, crazy stories, and so many memories.

To every client who has trusted us with their hair, nails, barbering, extensions, and everything in between — THANK YOU. Your support has allowed us to grow and continue doing what we love.

To our amazing team — thank you for bringing your talent, personalities, hard work, and laughter through these doors every day. I’m so proud of what we’ve built together. 🖤

Looking Glass Hair Design has been proudly partnered with Idaho COBS for over a year now, and this partnership means so much to us.

Idaho COBS — Creating Opportunities Beyond Survival of Trafficking — works right here in Idaho to help victims and survivors of human trafficking heal, rebuild, and create safe lives. They provide safe housing, crisis support, advocacy, education, life-skills support, and ongoing resources for survivors.

As a salon, we want Looking Glass to be a safe place. A place where anyone who walks through our doors feels welcomed, respected, heard, and safe.

Our salon team has also attended a human trafficking awareness presentation through Idaho COBS. That education has helped us better understand what trafficking can look like, recognize potential warning signs, and know how to respond appropriately if we ever have concerns about someone’s safety.

Because here’s something we want everyone to understand:

Human trafficking isn’t just something that happens somewhere else.

It happens right here in Idaho.
It happens in our communities.
It can happen in Boise, Meridian, Kuna, and throughout the Treasure Valley.
It can happen in neighborhoods that look completely ordinary.

Idaho COBS emphasizes that trafficking can take many forms, including exploitation involving people the victim may know and trust. Education and awareness are important tools in recognizing exploitation and supporting survivors.

And sometimes, making a difference doesn’t mean knowing exactly what to do.

Sometimes it means noticing.
Sometimes it means listening.
Sometimes it means creating a safe place.
Sometimes it means simply planting a seed that lets someone know they aren’t alone.

🌿 This is why our partnership with Idaho COBS matters to us.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing ways YOU can get involved — from helping with immediate survivor needs, to donations, to community events and fundraisers.

Keep an eye out. There will be lots of ways to help, and every little bit can make an impact. 💜

My favorite service is Builder Gel because I love creating strong, beautiful, natural-looking nails, but I also offer Gel-X and acrylic! Whether you’re looking for something simple and classy or fun and creative, I’d love to bring your nail vision to life. 🌿💚

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, requiring you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. However, to ensure the smooth operation of our salon and to respect the time of our stylists, we have implemented the following cancellation / no-show policy:

**48-Hour Cancellation Notice:**
- We kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice for all appointment cancellations or rescheduling requests.

**Cancellation Fees:**
- Failure to do give 48 hours notice may result in a cancellation fee of up to 50% of your scheduled service.

- Cancellations less than 24hrs & No Shows may result in a fee up to 100% of your scheduled service.

** Any fees charged will be at the discretion of your stylist. **

For Lindsay Lyon, working behind the chair has always been about much more than hair—it’s about connection, confidence, and helping each client feel like the very best version of themselves.

A proud Meridian, Idaho, local, Lindsay has built her career through passion, creativity, and a genuine love for her clientele. She has co-owned and worked at The Electric Chair Salon in downtown Boise, where she created lasting relationships and helped countless clients look and feel their best.

Now, Lindsay is excited to begin a new chapter at Looking Glass Hair Design in Boise, Idaho. This new opportunity brings fresh energy and inspiration while allowing her to continue doing what she loves most: creating beautiful hair and meaningful connections with the people who sit in her chair.

Lindsay is incredibly grateful for the trust, loyalty, and encouragement of her clients. Their support has been a constant source of motivation throughout her journey and is what inspires her to keep learning, growing, and evolving as a cosmetologist.
