Week 4/5 update:
Swelling still there but not as prevalent in my hips. Still get swollen hands occasionally in the morning. I have a belly button spacer, so that my belly button doesn’t close. I wish the drain didn’t come out so early. But on the bright side I’m looking at getting a faja and an abdominal board to help with more compression. Restrictions still haven’t been lifted yet for lifting over 5lbs. I try not to…but my daughter is 30 pounds and sometimes bags just need to be carried. So there’s not much I can do about that. Otherwise the stitches are healing well and I am happy with where I am so far.

Week one post-op update:
So far so good! I was able to get two drains out before I left the hospital (like right after surgery), from both of my arms. About 2 days later, I had my right hip drain removed. The swelling in my hands is relatively gone. By about day three I stopped taking the oxy’s the prescribed and by like day four I didn’t really need Tylenol or anything to keep be going through the day. I still wear the compression daily and only take it off for showers, as recommended. But as you can see, I still wear what I want, and just try to make sure it’s not too tight around the midsection.
I’ll keep you updated next week!

April 25,2025:
Guess what?? I went for brachioplasty & penniculectomy surgery! Two birds one stone this time around. I had lost enough weight that my skin was becoming an issue. I did try to wait for at least two years to see what my body could do on its own. Many of the people around me said they could notice I lost a lot of weight, but couldn’t use that it was -135 pounds! Over time, some of the weight was gained back and I evenly balanced out at 160 (where I wanted to stop at before, but lost weight until I was 133 with sweatpants on).
Upon waking up, yes you do feel the difference mostly on the arms. The lower abdomen scar feels like a c section but doesn’t hurt. However, the way the arms feel, is way lighter! My shoulders even stopped clicking and my right shoulder labrum is feeling some relief after being so tense from trying to support the extra weight.
Compression is required for the next three weeks. The next day before leaving the hospital, I was able to take both my arm drains out! And about 3 days later I was able to get one of two abdomen drains removed. My stomach felt a little rigid, so I did have to remind myself, it’s okay to sit up with full posture and it will actually help the healing! Just like vsg surgery I am still out walking and just enjoying life, to help promote the healing. The pain was prettt normal and basically gone after about 48 hours and some Tylenol. I’ll post some progress photos and scar healing photos over the next few weeks/months.
Cheers to progress 🥂

Life went crazy this past year! I have so many updates and I am very excited to share them all with you. Some of them are harder than others, I am still interested in sharing my journey and my updates so far with what I have been going through health wise and life-wise. Outside of that, I have been doing tons of work on my mental health and even growing when it comes to my knowledge in health and fitness. Very excited to be back and be able to continue to share with all of you. Much love and please keep in touch❣️

I haven’t posted in a while, but here’s an update:
Life has been more than hectic. So many unexpected changes. Losses in many ways. But with this journey I’ve gained so much confidence, knowledge, and experience. I can’t wait for half of what I’ve been going through to be over so I can share more about everything that I’ve been up to and go from there. In the mean time, my skin has been doing a lot better and has started to actually tone and somewhat go back to looking like a stomach that’s more postpartum looking than post vsg looking. My scars are shrinking and I’m doing a lot better overall. Though I haven’t been on here as much and engaging as much, I am still here. If anyone needs a check in or would like to hang out soon definitely keep in touch. Much love 🤍🤍
