Indeed, the whole field of Pictorial Geography…may be covered in this way.” So stay tuned to today’s podcast to hear her ideas on how to go about this daunting feat while our children are still in the early years.

The study of Geography can be about more than mastering knowledge of the world, its contents, and its inhabitants; it can be a way to develop character by encouraging compassion, curiosity, and a broader perspective than one's own cultural subset affords.

Today we're embarking on a new subject series, one very adjacent to Science, but also adjacent to History. That is the subject of Geography. Join us today on the podcast to get an overview of this amazing subject's scope and sequence across a child's education, and find out why Charlotte Mason considered this the most delightful subject of all.

To listen and access links to resources, head to Episode 349: Geography Part 1, Introduction: https://www.adelectableeducation.com/2026/10/episode-349-geography-part-1-introduction/

Evaluation of our students' Science studies can be difficult to quantify! Don't let the process of their exams derail from the core of Charlotte Mason's principles - education is the act of forming 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘴.

What sort of relationship has your child formed with his or her studies this term? Where do you see curiosity, or perhaps improvement in working independently or following experiment procedures? How has the ability to observe and question grown? Are you able to learn more about the subject from listening to their explanations?

To hear more of our thoughts on evaluating Science lessons and exams, tune in to our final episode in this series on Science, #348: https://www.adelectableeducation.com/2026/09/episode-348-science-part-7-closing-thoughts/

Whether you're 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 the texture of a seed soaked for Botany, 𝘴𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 the earthy home of a Special Study mushroom, 𝘨𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 at stars in the evening for Astronomy, or 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 the call of a new bird friend visiting your Biome of choice, the study of Science is chock full of opportunities to experience the world with all of our senses! Just...let's not 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦 the mushrooms 🍄

This Science series has been a delight, and a great opportunity to remind us of the importance of Science lessons, not to mention the joys found therein.
