'Why am I so angry lately?'—it may be worth learning how perimenopause can affect mood.
Have you noticed yourself feeling unusually irritable lately?
Maybe you've snapped at your partner over something small, felt overwhelmed by everyday noises, or found your patience wearing thinner than it used to. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.
During perimenopause and menopause, changing hormone levels can affect much more than hot flashes. They may also influence mood, stress tolerance, and emotional regulation.
Our latest blog explores why this can happen and discusses steps that may help you feel more like yourself again.

Menopause Rage: Why You're So Angry During Perimenopause (And What May One of the least talked about symptoms of perimenopause and menopause is something many women describe as "meno rage." While hot flashes and night sweats get most of the attention, mood changes can be just as disruptive and often far more distressing. The good news? There is a reason this happens, a...
Why do some people respond better to leucovorin than folic acid?
Have you ever heard of leucovorin?
While it isn't appropriate for everyone, it may be considered in certain situations, such as when someone has a poor response to folic acid, language delays, GI concerns, or specific folate-related testing.
Because leucovorin is the active form of folate, it must be used under the guidance of a knowledgeable healthcare provider, not started on your own.

"What's the difference between compounded hormones and commercial hormones?"
The answer may be simpler than you think.
Commercial hormone products are standardized and manufactured in fixed strengths and dosage forms.
Compounded hormones are customized based on an individual's unique needs and a healthcare provider's prescription.
The important thing to remember?
Neither option is automatically "better" for everyone.
Every woman's symptoms, goals, preferences, and health history are different. That's why personalized conversations matter when exploring hormone therapy options.
The best approach is the one that fits your unique needs and helps support your overall wellness journey.
Understanding your options is the first step toward making informed decisions about your health. 💚

But PCOS can affect much more than that.
It may impact blood sugar, metabolism, inflammation, stress response, energy levels, and how you feel overall. That’s why many women experience symptoms that seem unrelated and wonder why they still don’t feel like themselves.

Many women assume, "Maybe HRT isn't working for me."
But hormones don't work in isolation. Your dose, timing, stress levels, nutrition, sleep, and other factors may all play a role in how you feel.
Before giving up on HRT, there may be more pieces of the puzzle to look at.

Many women have been told that feeling exhausted, gaining weight unexpectedly, sleeping poorly, or struggling with brain fog is simply part of getting older.
And while these concerns are common, that doesn't automatically mean they should be ignored.
Your body communicates with you every day.
Sometimes symptoms are your body's way of asking for support, attention, or a deeper conversation.
Women's health deserves more than quick answers and rushed appointments.
It deserves education, understanding, and personalized care.
You know your body better than anyone.
Trust yourself enough to ask questions.
What symptom do you think women normalize the most?
As parents, it's natural to want to try everything possible to support your child.
When you hear about treatments like leucovorin, it can be tempting to start researching online and look for quick answers. But it's important to remember that leucovorin is not a one-size-fits-all solution.
What may be appropriate for one child may not be appropriate for another.
That's why personalized care matters.
Every child has a unique health history, symptoms, nutritional needs, and treatment goals. A knowledgeable healthcare provider can help determine whether leucovorin is something worth discussing and how it may fit into your child's overall care plan.
As a pharmacist, one thing I always encourage parents to do is ask questions.
✔️ Why is this being recommended?
✔️ What is the goal of treatment?
✔️ What should we monitor?
✔️ What results should we realistically expect?
There is no such thing as asking too many questions when it comes to your child's health.
The more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make confident decisions alongside your healthcare team.
Remember, the goal isn't to find a quick fix. The goal is to find the right support for your child as an individual.
If you're a parent navigating autism-related treatments, what questions do you wish someone had answered sooner? I'd love to hear your thoughts below.
When parents hear that their child has been prescribed leucovorin, one of the first questions they ask is:
*"What is this medication, and why was it recommended?"*
That's a great question.
One common misconception is that leucovorin is being used to treat autism itself. In reality, healthcare providers may consider leucovorin for some children because of the role folate plays in brain function and development.
Folate is an important nutrient that helps support many processes in the body, including those related to growth and neurological function. Researchers have been exploring how some children with autism may have difficulty getting folate into the brain efficiently, even when folate levels in the body appear normal.
This is one reason why leucovorin may be discussed as part of a child's individualized care plan.
It's important to remember that every child is unique. What works for one child may not be appropriate for another, which is why treatment decisions should always be made in partnership with a knowledgeable healthcare team.
As a pharmacist, I believe parents deserve to understand not just *what* their child is taking, but *why* it's being considered.
The more informed you are, the more confident you can feel when discussing options with your child's healthcare providers.
If your child has been prescribed leucovorin, what questions did you have when you first heard about it? Share below—I may cover it in a future video.

When parents begin learning about folate metabolism, they often discover there's much more to the conversation than they expected.
Topics like folic acid, folate, MTHFR variations, and Leucovorin can feel overwhelming at first.
But understanding how the body uses nutrients can be an important part of a larger wellness discussion.
Every child is unique.
Every family has different questions.
And every care plan should be individualized.
My goal is always to help make complex topics easier to understand so families can feel informed and empowered when discussing options with their healthcare team.
Knowledge can be a powerful first step.
