Being a hairstylist and business owner is beautiful—but it can also be emotionally heavy.
Some days, we walk into the studio carrying things nobody can see. We may not feel like ourselves. We may be overwhelmed, exhausted, emotional, or trying to navigate things happening behind the scenes. Yet we still show up, smile, create, listen, and give our clients a space to breathe.
The part that stays with me is knowing our clients are carrying things, too. Sometimes an appointment is more than hair—it is a moment to feel beautiful, heard, safe, and temporarily disconnected from everything waiting outside those doors. A little divine escape.
We are not therapists or doctors, but we are often trusted with people’s thoughts, their stories, their wins, and their hard moments. That is one of the most rewarding parts of this career.
But a reminder to every stylist, service provider, and person who pours into others: you are human too. You deserve support, rest, softness, and an outlet of your own. You cannot keep giving from an empty place.
Fill your own jar just as intentionally as you fill everyone else’s. 🤍

Happy Birthday to Divine Hair Collective! ✨
It’s officially been one year since a dream and a prayer became reality. I feel so incredibly blessed and grateful for everything this past year has brought me.
It has truly been a roller coaster—learning a new rhythm, finding balance between business and personal life, and taking leaps of faith even when I questioned whether I was taking on more than I could handle. But through it all, I’ve realized this dream had been living in my heart for a long time. I had just become too comfortable in a place where I could no longer grow.
This journey has helped me reconnect with my younger self—the version of me who was hungry to learn, grow, become an educator, and absorb as much knowledge as possible from the incredible people in this industry. It has reignited my passion for networking, building genuine connections, and surrounding myself with people who truly care about one another’s success.
I couldn’t have done any of this without God. I’m so grateful for the strength, vision, and spirit He gave me to step outside of my comfort zone and pursue something I believe I was always meant to do.
Here’s to one beautiful year of Divine Hair Collective—and to everything still to come. 🤍

A bob is a fundamental haircut — it’s one of the first shapes we learn in beauty school and the first that really demands precision.
But the approach matters. What’s the client’s hair texture and density? Do they air-dry or style daily? Depending on their hair and lifestyle, a bob can be surprisingly low maintenance or very high maintenance—and either way, it absolutely requires attention to detail.
Bobs are one of my favorite haircuts because there’s nothing more satisfying than a clean, well-balanced bob that moves and falls exactly where it should.

Trusting Jesus was the first step I took when I decided to open my business.
No perfect timing. No opportunities handed to me. I had to create them. And that meant putting myself in rooms where I didn’t know everything—where I had to listen more, learn more, and grow.
It’s kinda chic to not have it all figured out yet. It’s kinda chic to stay teachable. That’s where the real growth happens.
If you’re waiting to feel ready, this is your sign. You don’t need all the answers to start—just the faith to move and the courage to put yourself in spaces that stretch you.
