Reposted Hair Extension Education The hair porosity, the texture, how fine or how thick the hair is, how chemically altered is the hair (this affects porosity and how brittle the hair may be)… all of these things are to be considered when using heat. As I always say… start with a lower heat and gradually increase the heat as needed and make sure you’re using SOME TYPE of heat protection. Even though a heat protection is never a guarantee that your hair will not become damaged, some protect protection is always better than nothing. Lastly, remember not to style your hair with any flat iron or curling iron on top of old product buildup because most of the products that contain high alcohol contents will start to break off your natural hair or the extensions as heat is being reapplied onto old product.
