BRANDON’S BODIES 94 CASES AND COUNTING

Since Brandon Johnson took ShotSpotter away from Chicago in September 2024, CWBChicago’s “Brandon’s Bodies” series has documented 94 cases involving shooting victims in areas previously covered by ShotSpotter.

That includes Sierra Evans.
I and Chicago Flips Red spoke with Sierra’s father and listened to his story, what happened to his daughter, and the questions he still has surrounding the loss of ShotSpotter.

Another case connected to the same alleged killer is Gabriella Arellano, who was also killed in an area previously covered by ShotSpotter.

I’ve been speaking out for YEARS about Chicago’s public-safety crisis, where our tax dollars are going, fraud, waste, and abuse, and why I believe we need independent forensic audits.

That’s why I had to run for Mayor ,to save Chicago.

CHICAGO, WHERE IS THE INFRASTRUCTURE?

Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration has pursued hundreds of millions of dollars in borrowing for infrastructure and capital improvements, with capital funding allocated across Chicago’s wards.
But my question is simple.

WHERE IS THE INFRASTRUCTURE?

You can tell South Side , and West Side citizens that money was borrowed for capital improvements, but walk through some of our neighborhoods.Citizens can still point to streets, sidewalks, lighting, and other basic infrastructure that need serious attention.

Chicagoans deserve to know exactly where the borrowed money went, what projects were completed, what remains unfinished, and what taxpayers received for the debt they will ultimately have to repay.

There are also rumors circulating about Mayor Brandon Johnson and alleged gang affiliations.

What does not require a rumor is the pain Chicago families experience from violence.

Are we okay with our children shooting each other? Are we okay with families continuing to bury their loved ones? Are we okay with neighborhoods asking year after year for safer streets, better lighting, and basic investment?

AS MAYOR, MY APPROACH WILL BE DIFFERENT.
I will push for an independent forensic audit of City spending and capital projects. I want Chicagoans to be able to see where their money went, what was promised, what was actually delivered, and who received the contracts.

I will prioritize basic neighborhood infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, lighting, and public-safety improvements, while demanding accountability for how taxpayer dollars are spent.

This is about building a safer, stronger Chicago where residents can see their tax dollars working in THEIR neighborhoods.

SOUTH SIDE, Y’ALL FORGOT ABOUT THIS?
Now the same illegal aliens are in your houses and communities, taking over,all at your expense while you’re being taxed out.

And now some of the same people who were right there, are asking you to support the same agenda, and Brandon Johnson, the same administration and policies you just experienced.

So you have to ask questions.
What are they getting out of it? What, if anything, were they promised? Why are they asking you to walk back into the same burning building after you’ve already felt the heat?

Come on, Chicago.

Look at the decisions. Look at the policies. Look at what happened in your own community. Ask who benefited, who was left behind, and who was held accountable.

Don’t let anyone take your support for granted.

As your mayor, I will push to end sanctuary-city policies and spend your money on YOU.

Every campaign promise he made, he went back on, knowing how badly his decisions would affect Chicago citizens, but he didn’t care.

I WILL PUT THE CITIZENS FIRST.

I will push for a 2% cap on property-taxes, and with the savings identified through an independent forensic audit, I will look to provide property-tax relief refunds to Chicago property owners.

YOKETHA BROWN’S FAMILY WANTS ANSWERS.
Prayers for Yoketha Brown’s family.

Last night, Myself, and Chicago Flips Red spoke with the family and fiancé of Yoketha Brown, the 35-year-old mother and medical professional killed in the wrong-way crash on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Oakwood Boulevard.

I spoke with Yoketha’s family after their balloon release, and afterward went with them to the police station looking for answers about the investigation, possible charges, court, and what happens next.

The family needs communication from the detective handling this case. Yoketha’s fiancé told us that when he last tried to call the detective back, the voicemail was full. This family is grieving and has questions. They should have a clear point of contact and know what happens next.

The family also raised serious concerns about lighting and roadway safety. They told me, too many crashes are happening in this area and want better lighting, more visible signs, and safety measures that could help prevent another tragedy.

Approximately 10 months ago, Prince Jamel Sullivan, 23, and Deanna Kulovitz, 23, were also killed in a crash in essentially this same area.

We are NOT saying lighting caused these crashes. But these concerns deserve to be investigated.

Chicago approved approximately $830 MILLION in infrastructure borrowing, including money for roads, bridges, streetlights and traffic signals.

WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?

As mayor, my platform is clear: PUBLIC SAFETY, FORENSIC AUDITS, TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY. When families identify dangerous conditions, City Hall should investigate them, and taxpayers should be able to see where their infrastructure dollars are being spent.

Yoketha’s family deserves answers. They deserve communication. Chicagoans deserve safer streets.

The 17th Ward pop-up was truly special.
We met so many people coming in and out, but one moment really touched me.

A beautiful lady told me she saw that we were down here. She jumped up, threw something on, and said, “I had to go see them.” We spoke for almost an hour.

She came with tears in her eyes and thanked us for showing up and speaking about what families in our communities are actually going through.

She talked about her children, the pain of being a parent whose family has been affected by gun violence, and what people are experiencing every single day.

She told us she feels like nobody wants to talk about it, nobody is listening, and families are crying out for help.

She thanked me and Chicago Flips Red for the work we’ve been doing.

THIS is why I do what I do.
This is why I keep showing up. And this is why I’m running for Mayor of Chicago, to make sure Chicagoans across this city are heard, their concerns are taken seriously, and City Hall works to address the problems affecting their families and neighborhoods.

I heard you. I saw your tears. And I will continue showing up.
