I mean… he has a point.😅

If you want your life to feel different, at some point you have to be willing to do something different.

Your mental health. Your relationships. Your health. Your confidence. The way you talk to yourself. The choices you keep making.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to stop giving up on the version of your life you actually want.

That’s pretty much what I talk about around here.

And it’s a huge part of why I created Becoming You.

Comment PREVIEW and I’ll send you a sneak peek.

What if the very things you’ve been told are “too much” are actually some of your greatest strengths?

Too passionate. Too sensitive. Too outspoken. Too determined.

How many times have you questioned yourself or tried to become a little less of who you are because someone made you feel like you were too much?

My sister reminded me today that the same tenacity, passion, drive and determination that have made me “too much” for some people are exactly what have gotten me through the hardest six years of my life.

God gave me those strengths long before I knew how desperately I would need them.

And maybe that’s something you need to hear too.

The very things you’ve spent years trying to change about yourself might be the things God gave you to carry you through the hardest seasons of your life.

Not everything about you needs fixing. And you don’t have to make yourself smaller to be loved or accepted.

I promise you, there are people out there who will love every part of who you are.

That’s such a big part of Becoming You. Learning to recognize what needs healing while accepting and embracing the person you were created to be.

Nobody talks enough about how much the little things can add up when it comes to our health.

Over the last few years, I’ve learned that some of the most meaningful changes start with paying attention to the ingredients we’re putting into our bodies every day.

Things I used to grab off the grocery store shelf without a second thought are now things I’m learning to make myself.

Like cream of chicken soup!

I originally switched from conventional canned cream of chicken soup to organic because I wanted to avoid some of the ingredients in the original. But the organic version just didn’t taste nearly as good.

So when my neighbor shared her homemade cream of chicken soup recipe with me, I was SO excited! It was absolutely delicious, and after adjusting a few things to suit my taste, I finally had a homemade alternative that I loved just as much as the original, without the ingredients I was trying to avoid.

I also replaced half the sour cream in this poppy seed chicken casserole with cottage cheese for a little extra protein.

Does it take a more time? A little. But knowing what I’m feeding my family makes that extra effort worth it to me.

And that’s why I love sharing the things I’m learning. Healthier living doesn’t have to be one massive overhaul. It’s the little changes we make along the way that can add up over time.

Comment RECIPE and I’ll send you BOTH the homemade cream of chicken soup recipe and the full poppy seed chicken casserole recipe!

When our lawyer dropped us less than a month before the statute of limitations expired, I did not handle it well.

I was angry, overwhelmed and three weeks away from major spine surgery. After almost a year of representation, I was suddenly on my own.

By that point we had already spent around $80,000 dealing with the damage to our home. That included remediation, rebuilding, rerouting HVAC ductwork, moving out and everything else it took to make the house livable again.

That $80,000 does not include a single medical bill.

Then I started calling attorneys and learning that fighting this case could require another $150,000 in legal fees and expert costs.

I still cannot wrap my head around that.

Whether anyone wants to debate mold illness or not, the damage to our home was real. 80 freaking thousand dollars real! We had standing water in our vents. We opened walls and found black mold covering drywall. We had receipts, remediation records, photos, documents and the company’s own written acknowledgment that there had been problems with the installation.

And somehow, after all of that, the burden was still on us to come up with another six figures just to fight over who should be responsible.

So I filed the lawsuit myself.

That was six months ago.

Now I’m racing against another deadline. In the video I had 23 days left to officially notify them they’re being sued or risk losing the entire case.

And that clock is still ticking.

Sometimes the urge to defend yourself has a lot less to do with what’s happening in the moment and a lot more to do with a part of you that learned it needed to protect you.

That’s one of the biggest things IFS has helped me recognize. Those reactions aren’t random. They usually formed for a reason.

And once you understand what that part is trying to protect, you can actually work through what’s underneath it instead of letting the same triggered response become your default every time.

Comment "preview" if you want a sneak peek inside Becoming You, where I dive much deeper into protectors and IFS.

We had an attorney representing us for almost a year and during that time we kept finding more evidence.

During remediation, we discovered even more problems with the HVAC system and learned that parts of it had never been fixed the way we were told they had been back in August 2024. Our attorney told us this made the case even stronger. He told us he had done a mock trial, that he was preparing to file and that we were only weeks away.

He still wasn’t licensed in Idaho, but he never made that seem like a problem. He told us he had someone he knew who could come onto the case with him so we believed everything was moving forward.

Then on March 24, less than a month before the statute of limitations was set to expire, he asked us to get on a Zoom call.

And dropped us.

After almost a year of representing us, he suddenly said we didn’t have enough evidence.

I couldn’t understand it. Everything he had asked us to get, we got. I had sent hundreds of documents, receipts, remediation records, the costs of moving out of our home, rerouting our HVAC system and even the company’s acknowledgment of the original issue on company letterhead.

And now I had less than a month to find another attorney willing to take a mold case on contingency before the deadline ran out.

At the exact same time, I was preparing for major spine surgery less than three weeks later after reinjuring my neck.

So instead of focusing on surgery and recovery, I was suddenly racing against the clock trying to keep our case alive.

And somehow, this story still isn't over.

Part 6 coming next.
