Stop reading your business like the founder. Start reading it like the customer.

I’m learning this in real time.

Sometimes I get frustrated because I’m thinking, How is this not clear? I literally explained it.

But here’s the problem: I’m reading it through the lens of the person who created it.

I know the product.
I know the industry.
I know what I meant.
I know what I’m trying to communicate.

Your customer doesn’t.

And sometimes what feels “simple” to us only makes sense because we already have all the context.

So here’s your challenge today:

Send your website, an email, or a piece of content to someone who actually fits your target customer.

Don’t explain it first.

Ask them:
“What do you think I’m saying?”
“What do you think I sell?”
“Who do you think this is for?”
“What would you do next?”

Then listen.

Because customer language isn’t about dumbing down what you do.

It’s about making sure the person you’re trying to reach actually understands you.

And sometimes the message that makes perfect sense to us…only makes sense to us. 😂
