You can compliment my waxing skills all day long, but when a client tells me “You made me feel safe” THAT will forever be my favorite compliment. Because THIS is exactly what I set out to create when I opened The Landing Strip Wax Studio.

I never wanted to be just another waxer you come to for smooth skin. I wanted to create a space where you can walk through my doors and leave your insecurities, fears, and worries about being judged OUTSIDE. I don’t care about your size, gender, sexuality, body hair, skin concerns, or what your body looks like. You deserve to feel comfortable, respected, and cared for. I know how vulnerable getting waxed can be, especially when you’re trusting a complete stranger with intimate parts of your body. That trust is something I will NEVER take lightly.

Yes, I love giving y’all a good wax, but knowing that I made someone feel comfortable in their own skin? Knowing that someone who was terrified to book finally felt safe enough to do so and with me? THAT’S MY WHY. The smooth skin is just a bonus. The way you FEEL in my studio is what matters most to me.

Is it weird that removing ingrown hairs is one of the MOST satisfying parts of my job?! Because, when that little hair finally comes out?! THE SATISFACTION IS UNREAL! 😮‍💨🤌🏽

But, before y’all start thinking I’m going on an extraction spree during your wax appointment, let’s talk SKIN HEALTH! As satisfying as ingrown hair extractions are, I will ONLY extract if the skin is healthy and it’s safe to do so.

Being uncircumcised does not prevent you from getting waxed. I adjust my technique as needed to safely work around the area, protect the skin, and get you as smooth as possible.

This video is probably one of the most vulnerable things I’ll ever share. This is the raw me. No business owner. No waxer. No trying to hold it together. Just me. 🥹

Birthdays have always been hard for me.

I lost my mom 4 days after my quince, and after that, birthdays just never felt the same. I stopped looking forward to them. And for a long time after losing her, I spiraled.

I’ve had depressive episodes. I’ve had suicidal thoughts more times than I’d like to admit. I’ve questioned my worth. I’ve felt like I wasn’t enough. I surrounded myself with the wrong people, made terrible decisions, and went through some really dark seasons.

There were times I genuinely didn’t think I would make it to 20.

Then I made it to 20.

I didn’t think I’d see 25.

And now here I am… 34 years old. 😭

That’s why I’m crying in this video.

These aren’t sad tears. These are I FU***NG MADE IT tears.

I chose to stay.
I chose to fight.
I kept going when life gave me every reason to give up.

And now I get to look around at a life I once couldn’t even imagine having.

My kids are amazing and thriving. ❤️
I found a man who loves me, chooses me, and wants to spend his life with me. 💍
I’m driving the car I used to dream about.
I built a business from the ground up that is flourishing beyond what I could’ve imagined.
And I’m standing inside MY suite, building something even bigger, crying while the man I’m going to marry holds me.

Like… this is really my life. 😭

I’d be lying if I said there isn’t still a little sadness attached to today. There are people I wish were here to see this version of me. And more than anything, I wish my mom could see the woman I became.

I wish she could see her daughter now.

But today, the gratitude is louder than the grief.

I’m grateful I stayed.
I’m grateful I fought for myself when I couldn’t see what was waiting for me on the other side.
I’m grateful for every lesson, every setback, every closed door, every ugly cry, every mistake and every version of me that somehow kept putting one foot in front of the other.

Because she got me here.
