We are a professional dance theatre company, led by Founding Artistic Director, Kelly Archer.

The Hebrew verb Chadash comes from a primitive root word that means to be new; to rebuild-- renew, repair, and restore. We are a new professional company in the Denver area passionate about our mission..."to stand in the ashes of the barn burned down, and point to the moon, one foot in suffering, one foot in hope."

Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement invites you to experience an evening of storytelling through dance theatre.

For the past ten years, Chadash has been creating work that explores what it means to be human. Blending dance, spoken word, film, photography, visual art, and more, our productions tell stories that are both deeply personal and universally relatable. We tell stories with one foot in suffering and one foot in hope, exploring the places where beauty and brokenness coexist and where healing often begins.

Our performances are designed to be more than something you simply watch. They are an invitation to reflect, to feel, and to engage with the world and the people around you in a deeper way.

This year’s August concert, H(You)mane, follows Lyra, a young woman making her way through an art exhibit about humanity. Each piece of visual art she encounters represents a different facet of the human experience and transforms into a dance work, inviting both Lyra and the audience to explore the joys, struggles, questions, and complexities that connect us all.

As Chadash celebrates its 10th anniversary season, H(You)mane serves as both a new exploration of the human condition and a reflection on the journey that has brought us here. The performance will feature choreography from many of our August productions over the past decade, revisiting works that have helped shape Chadash’s artistic voice while placing them in conversation with one another through a new story.
Join us as we celebrate ten years of creating meaningful, thought-provoking dance theatre and explore together what it means to be human.

One Foot in Hope
A Chadash Fundraising Evening | August 2nd at Blanchard Family Wines

Dear Friends of Chadash,
We are so grateful to be connected with you.
Whether you have been part of the Chadash story for many years, recently discovered our work, or are joining us for the first time, we are honored to have you in this community. Over the past ten years, your support has made it possible for us to create original dance works, build meaningful connections, and share stories that offer hope and spark conversation.

As we look ahead to our 11th season, we would love to invite you to join us for our 3rd Annual One Foot in Hope fundraising event on Saturday, August 2nd at Blanchard Family Wines in Denver.

One Foot in Hope has become one of our favorite evenings of the year. Its a chance to gather with friends old and new, share a meal and wine in the heart of Denver, experience live performances by our company dancers, and celebrate what we’ve created together while looking ahead to what’s next. Your evening also includes a ticket to our August production, H(You)mane.

This evening directly supports the work we create throughout the year. Funds raised help us invest in our artists, create new work, support educational programming through CDI, and continue bringing dance to our community. Our goal is to raise $25,000, and every ticket and every gift makes a meaningful impact.

As we reflect on the past ten years, we keep coming back to the people. Some of our most meaningful moments happen after performances, when audience members share how deeply a work resonated, how seen they felt, or how a story gave them hope. Those moments are why we continue to create.

We would love to celebrate with you on August 2nd!

✨ Is your dancer thinking about a future in dance beyond high school? ✨

Whether they dream of attending a university dance program, conservatory, or pursuing concert dance professionally, finding the right guidance and training can feel overwhelming. That’s where the Colorado Dance Initiative comes in.

CDI was created to help serious young dancers bridge the gap between studio training and the professional/conservatory dance world. . . all while continuing to train at their home studios.

CDI may be the right fit if your dancer is:

• Interested in pursuing a university or conservatory dance program after high school, but unsure how to navigate the process
• Looking for a program that connects studio dance training with the expectations of collegiate and concert dance programs
• A competitive dancer who is curious about exploring contemporary and concert dance in a deeper way
• Seeking opportunities to take class, rehearse, perform, and be mentored by working professional dancers
• Wanting to supplement their current training while connecting with dancers from studios across the Denver area

Through masterclasses, mentorship, rehearsals, performance opportunities, and exposure to professional-level contemporary dance training, CDI helps young artists grow not only as dancers — but as thoughtful, versatile, and creative movers.

✨ Train. Create. Connect. Grow.
✨ Expand your artistry beyond the competition stage.
✨ Discover what’s possible for your future in dance.
