Hey gals!! My schedule this coming week is VERY limited, as we prepare for a 4th of July party and a trip to Colorado!! The following are my openings for next week for spray tans before the 4th, and before I am out of the suite for a week!

Thursday 7/2 8am, 9:30am, 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm

This is my sweet client Amanda!! Amanda answered the modeling call ad I posted, and here are her 24 hour results!! I completely dropped the ball and didn’t take pictures immediately after her soray, and before her rinse 😭 this was a brand new product for me, and she was my very first client to get to try it!!! This is an ultra dark solution with SUPER intense bronzers. We were both scared at first 😂😂 but this is a rapid solution that can actually be worn anywhere from 2-8 hours depending on how dark you want to be! Amanda wore this for 2 hours only!!! And these are her results after 24 hours and fully developed!!!
For my modeling call clients, I will follow your spray tan over the next 7 to 10 days to see how it develops after the first initial rinse, how it looks fully developed, and how it starts to fade after about six or seven days. Amanda has been an incredibly communicative and informative client, and has sent me pictures throughout the entire process! This helps me decide what products to keep purchasing, and what products may not be my favorite. So far, I absolutely love this product, and I hope to keep offering it in the future for clients who love to be super super dark! 

This is my gorgeous client, and friend, Andrea!! Andrea found me last year when her step daughter needed a spray tan for an event, and we became fast friends! 🩷 For Andrea’s tan this time, we used a brand new solution, and she sat in it for around 7 hours! The color is seriously gorgeous, and perfect for a summertime glow!!! Thanks for coming to see me, sweet friend!! 🥰

Since we are smack dab in the middle of summertime, I figured we could do a little Tuesday talk about some spray tan education!! This will be long so grab a snack 😂
Today’s topic is sunburns!!! We are going to talk about everything to do with sunburns and spray tanning, and why the two do not mix!!!
1. Sunburns are exactly that- a burn. Burns can range in severity, and can cause damage to several layers of your skin! Sunburned skin is also sensitive and inflamed. The active tanning ingredient, dihydroxyacetone (DHA), and fragrances in the solution can cause stinging, worsen the burn, and delay healing. Sunburns are an actual wound, and absolutely no artist should ever ever spray tan over a wound as big as a sunburn. Especially a fresh sunburn. It’s always best to wait several days for redness and sensitivity to fully subside!
2. Even when you dont look like a 🦞, sunburns can still be present. Your artist should always ask if you’ve spent a lot of time in the sun recently, and educate you on what could potentially happen if your skin has not had a chance to fully heal. Sunburns can genuinely take months to completely heal, depending on the severity!
3. Aside from the obvious, sunburns are a lot more complex than just your skin turning red. Once your sunburn starts to heal, it goes through a process of peeling. If you spray tan over a sunburn, once it inevitably starts to peel, you might be left with what we call “cheetah skin” which is incredibly uneven, not so pretty patchy skin where there is new skin peeking through old, flaky skin. Now add a spray tan on top of that and it’s a recipe for disaster.
4. A common misconception is that spray tans provide protection from the sun. They actually do not provide any protection at all, and you definitely can still burn through a spray tan! To prevent this, an oil free and alcohol free SPF is recommended to protect your spray tan and your skin!!
5. 10 out of 10 times, your artist should be able to tell if you have been recently sunburned, are peeling, or if a spray tan is just not the right move at the time. I highly prioritize my clients safety over absolutely anything, so please respect and trust my decision to not spray tan you should you come in with a sunburn. It is not worth it, and I promise promise you will thank me in the long run!!

I could talk so much more about this topic, but that’s pretty much it in a nutshell!!! Protect your skin, and it will protect you 🥰🥰
