She didn’t know that one day, she would become the woman and the voice she needed. 💜

HS started for me at a young age. I tried to speak, but I didn’t feel heard. Eventually, silence became my prison.

Today, advocacy has become my freedom.

This moment is between me and my younger self a reminder that her pain mattered, her story mattered, and her voice was always important.

Now I use my voice so others living with Hidradenitis Suppurativa know they don’t have to suffer in silence. Our voices can create change. Our stories can bring awareness. And together, we can make sure the next young person with HS feels seen, heard, and believed.

I learned a cute new way to style a men’s collared shirt and was really feeling myself… then HS decided to express itself through my pants. 😭 Whole outfit: CANCELLED.

Nothing humbles you faster than a flare-up with perfect timing. The word of the day is **humblizum** when you think you’re serving, but HS serves you a reality check. 😂

HS doesn’t disappear just because we’re dressed up, dancing, laughing, or having a good time.

The pain can still be there. The wounds can still be there. The exhaustion can still be there.

But so can JOY

This night reminded me that living with HS isn’t only about surviving the hard days it’s also about giving ourselves permission to LIVE on the good ones. To dance. To laugh. To show up. To be surrounded by people who understand without needing an explanation.

HS already takes enough from us. It wasn’t getting this night too.

Sometimes I forget that the version of me you see showing up is also the version of me learning how to live through pain. 💜

I can laugh, travel, dress up, dance, create memories, chase dreams and still be hurting.

HS has taught me how to keep going, but I’m learning something else too: **I don’t have to be hard on myself to prove that I’m strong.**

The little girl I was, the young woman I became, and the woman I am today all deserve the same thing from me grace, love, and the decision to keep choosing myself.

So here’s your PSA and mine:
