Dear friends, as Venezuelans, we are living through very painful times. We are facing tragedy, loss, and a sense of helplessness following the double earthquake that devastated the La Guaira area and parts of Caracas, causing considerable damage elsewhere in the country. Thank God our family there is safe, but we have lost friends, and many fellow Venezuelans are suffering. We are focusing our energy on helping, offering support, praying, and expressing gratitude for the solidarity shown by so many countries, individuals, and institutions. It is very difficult to maintain a daily routine or work; we are doing only what is strictly necessary. Our priority right now is the emergency in Venezuela. Our country needs all of us to get through this and recover. I will post updates whenever I can, and our website, orquiverde.com, will remain active. There are many ways to help. Today in the patio, Cattleya mossiae suave 'Rio Claro' is blooming! This beautiful and rare Cattleya is originally from the wild in Venezuela.

This blooming is incredibly special for me. Two years ago, the plant was in such bad shape that I thought I’d lost it completely. Slowly but surely, it kept improving, and today it gave us the perfect gift: two beautiful new flowers.

This is all part of the amazing, rewarding challenge of growing orchids. It is always, always worth it! 💕
