1️⃣ Healed Results.

This is one of the biggest indicators of a skilled permanent makeup artist. Fresh brows are beautiful, but they’re only a small part of the story. What really matters is how they heal weeks later.

If your artist doesn’t have a Healed Results highlight or healed photos on their page… I’d keep looking. 🚩

2️⃣ Head-On Before & After Photos.

Don’t be fooled by gorgeous Instagram angles. We all love capturing our work from the most flattering perspective (myself included!), but the true test of brow artistry is a straight-on photo.

Why?

Because mapping and shaping are the foundation of beautiful brows. A head-on view lets you see how well the artist balanced the brows with the client’s unique facial features, not just how pretty they look from the side.

No one has a perfectly symmetrical face, and we aren’t trying to make you look like a doll. Our goal is to create the most balanced, natural-looking brows possible while enhancing your unique beauty.

One of the greatest compliments a client can give me is trusting my recommendation, even when it’s not the quickest solution.

When this beautiful brow beauty came to me, I knew the best opportunity for the most natural result wasn’t simply tattooing over her existing brows. Instead, I recommended laser tattoo removal to get us as close as possible to a clean canvas.

She trusted the process… and that trust is what made this transformation possible.

As you can see, there is still a yellow remnant of pigment from her previous permanent makeup, which is very common after laser removal. During her first appointment, my focus was to strategically place soft, natural nano hair strokes while working with her skin, not against it, to help neutralize and camouflage the remaining pigment.

✨ This is only Part 1 of her transformation.

Over the next 8 weeks, we’ll let her skin heal so I can evaluate how it retains the pigment. At her perfecting appointment, we’ll make any adjustments needed based on her healed results. Permanent makeup should always be customized to your skin’s response, not rushed.

Every correction tells a different story, and every client deserves an individualized plan. Sometimes the best brows don’t come from covering up the past, they come from taking the time to create a beautiful new beginning.
