I made this video for myself, for when I question why on earth I don't go get a regular job...

I hope you enjoy it, too. 🤣🤣

In all seriousness, entrepreneurship can be amazing, and also very challenging.

But all laughing aside (we laugh so we don't cry? except I do both lol) if you watch to the end of this short clip... you will find out my deepest why and really what keeps me going on this winding roller coaster of a path.

Who are you trying to become lately?

What identity are you stepping into in this season of your life?

I'm stepping into a version of myself who isn't apologetic about pursuing more aliveness and alignment, and work that fits the life I want to live.

It's also creating healing inside of me in a way that I've always craved.

Episode 168 dives into the ways that pursuing meaningful, soul aligned work, can be about so much more than making money (though you are most certainly allowed to want to make money, too), it's about becoming the versions of ourselves we've always wanted to be.

We don't have to choose between telling the truth and experiencing joy.

This retreat is a place for both. 🤍

Curious? DM me LAKE and I'll send you the details.

Big shifts are happening folks.

I am growing and changing in ways I've always wanted, but couldn't quite access until recently.

I'm sharing very openly about it on the pod this week.

If you've spent much of your life focusing on achieving outcomes to help yourself feel worthy (e.g., losing weight, making more money, being likeable, etc), and you've dealt with a lot of shame, this episode is for you.

I feel like these shifts I'm experiencing are a culmination of so many things.

All the people I interviewed on my podcast have honestly helped in small and big ways. Sarah Buino of , your interview especially comes to mind when you talked about your individual journey of reducing chronic shame. And yours too even though it was so long ago, I still remember so vividly feeling hope for not always feeling so much shame over time. You too even though your ep is still in the queue - coming soon!

When I hear others stories about overcoming shame and embracing unconditional self worth, it gave me so much hope.

Even though I wished I could get a roadmap, I also knew intuitively I had to find my own path.

I'm still on the journey, we are never done growing or healing (to the chagrin of many parts of me, lol), and yet, things feel very different in my body lately.

I feel super freaking proud of myself, how I'm showing up in the world and for myself. And so dang grateful of those who have guided me in where I am today. to name some of the major ones lately.

Keep going friends, healing and the growth you desire is possible. And it's so freaking worth it.

Check out all the juicy details in Ep 168 Can you be proud of yourself before you succeed?

This part of the convo gave me chills.

"Mom guilt" is such a thing.

When I left to attend my first retreat before I decided to host mine, I felt panicky and incredibly guilty. And the thing was only 2.5 hour drive away and only 3 nights!

Julia Nepini of speaks to this honestly in this podcast convo, including the fact that she too had guilt at first. But down the road she's been able to witness the positive ripples effects, for her daughter and her group practice team.

When we pursue our dreams, it's generous to those who love us.

It's showed her daughter whats possible.

And gave her team permission to take time off or do what they needed to do for themselves.

Boundaries are always generous, folks. They just are.

So listen to this episode and get inspired. Your thing may not be speaking, travel, or even entrepreneurship, but I can guarantee your loved ones and family will benefit when you start prioritizing your needs and desires.

Beyond the Therapy Chair: Leadership, Travel, & Building an Aligned Life with Julia Nepini

And tell me below, which country would you travel too if you had the choice?
1) Ireland
2) Bali
3) Costa Rica

Real talk: Business and entrepreneurship ain't no cakewalk.

It pushes us. It brings us to our knees sometimes.

Sometimes in the closet. Sometimes we cry and say we can't do it anymore.

But other times?

It can be the thing where you feel seen, valued, and appreciated for who you truly are.

You no longer feel "too much" or "too loud" or "not enough."

This week's convo with Julia Nepini of was oh so good.

We covered how business can be healing, how it can help you find your people, how it can allow you to travel the world and speak, and oh so much more.

Bold statement alert! 2 months could change your life 🤯

This is a somewhat vulnerable, very imperfect video from me speaking from the heart about our Retreat Experience this October.

I often speak from my own experience because that’s what i have access to, but these profound shifts are also from what I’ve witnessed in years of working with folks in a therapy and also coaching capacity.

The combo of parts work, energy management (not just time) and creativity and play in community truly is mind blowing.🤯

But it’s something you EXPERIENCE versus “learn” or think your way into (to the chagrin of our analyzing / cognitive parts).

I’ve designed the container with all of this in mind to help you shift in the most efficient way i know of.

If this is calling to your soul in any way, please reach out. Just dm “retreat” and I’ll share more details. You won’t regret it. ❤️❤️

I watched Amie McNee's TEDx talk! You were soooo right about it.

My fav quote:
"Making art gives you agency in a world where we have little control.
Creativity is our power to enact change."

It helped me understand my journey at another level.

Happy weekend all. Go make sh*t.

Aligned action most certainly isn't always comfortable... but at some level, it does feel "right."

Entrepreneurship and other forms of leadership (parenting) allow us MANY opportunities to practice discerning between intuition and fear that we need to build capacity to feel, and fear that means it isn't for us.

We are also wired differently, so the path for Steffeny Feld looks different than it did for me. But the sooner we can learn about our wiring and how we create magic in the world, the sooner we and others can experience the magic we have to offer.

I loved this convo so much. Check out the most recent episode of The Innovative Therapist podcast anywhere you get podcasts!

Ooooh this convo with Steffeny Feld of Intensive Design Lab was SO good.

In a few short years, Steffeny went from community social work, to ZERO clinical work, teaching therapists to create intensives, working from home in her PJs. :)

But that isn't the important part of this conversation.

Many of us want time freedom, less burnout, but I hope you will listen to this convo with a focus on the things Steffeny actually did to make this happen, and how aligned action is actually energizing, when it's done with how YOU personally are wired.

We also spontaneously talk about Human Design, which continues to be a useful tool for so many people, especially those of us building out of the box innovative things.

Listen to the Innovative Therapist podcast wherever you get podcasts, and let Steffeny and I know what you thought!
