Recently, I had to say goodbye to my sweet mare, Coffee Bean or as we lovingly called her “Beans”. She was the kind of horse who was gentle with everyone, gave her whole heart to everything she did, and would truly do anything for anyone around her.

To honor her legacy, her kind spirit, and the endless joy she brought to my life, I want to pass that love forward into our community with a special memorial giveaway.

I am giving away a full, complimentary bodywork session to a horse who could really use a helping hand, a little relief, or some extra love right now.

Shiatsu… what is it?

Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese massage technique. Using direct finger pressure along “energy meridians”. In traditional Japanese medicine, health is determine by the flow of energy throughout the body. Meridians are the pathways in which energies flow. Using pressure points along the meridians we open up these pathways to help with certain issues. Think of the meridian like a water hose, if there’s a kink in it, the water won’t come out. You have to untangle the hose to create an open path for the water to travel through. Shiatsu is like we are untangling the hose and making that easy path for the energy.

Attached below are body maps for each kind of animal that I work on. We may work these areas to help:

Water (Blue) - Relaxation, Back Pain, & Relieve Exhaustion

Fire (Red) - Reduce Stress/Anxiety, Reduce Shoulder Tension, & Reduce Chest Tension

Metal (White) - Decrease Coughing & Reduces Front Leg Stumbling/Weakness

Wood (Orange) - Increase Joint/Ligament Healing, Soothes Hoof Pain, & Reduces Aggression

Earth (Green) - Decrease Gas, Promotes Fertility, Increases Milk Production, & Soothes Colic

The best part of today’s clinic was watching the "lightbulb moments" happen as owners connected with their horses on a deeper physical level.

Bodywork isn't just about what I can do in a session. It’s about empowering you to recognize restrictions, understand movement, and feel confident supporting your horse's comfort every single day.

So incredibly proud of this group for diving in headfirst today. Your horses thank you!
