What a week!
One of our clients turned 104 on Friday. Born in 1922. Still sharper than most of us on a Monday morning.
Before that we ran the ice cream truck to four communities on Tuesday, and Heritage Greens had us in to host bingo Thursday. Care is the baseline. The rest of it is what makes a week feel like a week.
Happy birthday! Here's to 105!

It’s no secret our caregivers are the heart of everything we do at Options. They show up every day with compassion, dedication, and heart.
This time, it was our turn to show up for them. 💙 Our Caregiver Connection Day was all about showing up for them the way they show up for us every single day. Thank you for all you do. We appreciate you!

This season has been such a busy one for our Options Home Care family! So many new faces have joined as we continue to expand, and we’re not done yet! Here’s some pics of some of the fun we’ve had along the way over the last month. 🥳

We're ending Nurses Week by introducing Celia, our nursing director.
Before joining us, she worked in cardiac ICU. The kind of nursing where seconds matter and the margin for error is zero.
She brings that same level of care and expertise to our team now. A quiet certainty about the work that our families can feel and our team can lean on.
Happy Nurses Week, Celia. Glad you're with us.

Meet Adaugo.
She joined Options as a full-time caregiver while also attending nursing school. From the start, she took on the kind of work that asks more from a caregiver. More skill, more patience, more presence. What most caregivers grow into over years came naturally to her.
In her own words:
"I got into nursing because I love helping people and caring for others when they are sick or going through difficult times. I love that nursing allows me to make a difference in people's lives every day through kindness, support, teaching, and care. Seeing patients feel better, smile, or feel safe because of the care I give makes me happy and gives me purpose. I also enjoy learning new things, working with a team, and building connections with patients and families."
Happy Nurses Week, Adaugo. We're grateful you're still part of the team.

Today Ginny Wilson is officially recognized as a 2026 McKnight's Women of Distinction Rising Star honoree.
Ginny makes other women believe they can lead too. Not because she makes it look easy, but because she makes it look real.
The Triad needs more leaders like her. People who understand that business success and community impact reinforce each other, who execute instead of deliberate, and who measure their effectiveness by the lives they've improved, not the meetings they've attended.
We are so proud!

Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. 10 AM – 2 PM.
If you've got expired prescriptions, half-finished antibiotics, or that bottle of pain meds from a surgery three years ago sitting in the cabinet — this is the day to clear them out. Free, anonymous, no questions asked.
A few reasons it matters more than people think:
• Accidental ingestion (kids, grandkids, pets)
• Fall risk from old sedatives or sleep aids still floating around
• Confusion when expired bottles get mixed in with current meds
• Accumulation that makes medication reconciliation a nightmare at the next hospital visit

If you've ever taken care of a parent, you already know how much of your life it takes and how much of your money.
53 million Americans are caring for a spouse, parent, or loved one right now, mostly unpaid. Almost half end up in credit card debt because of care costs. Medicare doesn't cover most of what they need.
This week, Jered went to Capitol Hill with the Home Care Association of America to push for bipartisan bills that would actually help family caregivers — a $5,000 federal tax credit, and changes to let families use their HSA and FSA dollars for a parent's care.
Met with Representative Richard Hudson's office (who represents both Greensboro and Burlington), Senators Budd and Tillis, and Representatives Harrigan, Foushee, and Ross.
Family caregivers don't usually get a voice in those buildings. Glad we could carry one in.

Hospital discharge is one of the most overwhelming moments for families and one of the least supported.
If you know someone navigating care for an aging parent or loved one, share this with them. We're doing a free lunch session on April 15th in Greensboro covering what actually matters when your loved one comes home from the hospital.
Our team at Options Home Care will be there alongside Caregiver Connect. We're bringing both the pharmacist perspective on medications and the hands-on caregiving resources families actually need to make the transition work at home.
Because medications get shuffled at discharge. And most families don't know what questions to ask. We do.
