Sometimes it’s the simplest things that are often overlooked.

It costs nothing to be intentional about maintaining a clean space for your clients.

And while pleasant scents are often associated with cleanliness, it’s important to be mindful of how much fragrance we introduce into our spaces.

Of course, if scent is part of your beauty brand and something your clients expect, that’s different.

Something to consider.

There’s something special about being able to do what you love while making someone else feel good about themselves. I’ll never take that for granted. 🤍

Part 2 of what’s in my bag! 👜

I always keep my cuticle oil with me—not only to use throughout the day, but also for unexpected content opportunities.

Different locations, backgrounds, and lighting can help you create fresh content with just your product and a good setting.

Content creation doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s simply about being prepared.

It’s content day! 🎀

Between running a business, running errands, and creating content, there are a few things I like to keep in my bag!

Now I’m curious… if I could only keep ONE of these things, which one do you think I’d choose? 👀

I’ll tell you in part two!

Save this and compare it to your current nails. This is four weeks growth and still clean. This is what 4+ week retention looks like.

I think there’s a difference between being courteous, being approachable, and having a full conversation with your client.

As service providers, we’re all going to have different personalities, and I don’t think every appointment needs to be filled with conversation. Some clients want to chat, and some clients probably don’t want to hear their service provider’s entire life story before they leave.

But I do believe there’s a certain level of communication that should come with providing a service. Taking the time to understand your client, asking questions, and simply making them feel comfortable.

And when it comes to quiet appointments, I think that’s a great option to offer. But I also believe the client should have the opportunity to decide whether that’s the experience they prefer.

I’m curious to hear how other beauty professionals and clients feel about this.

I definitely didn’t start with a salon and a full clientele.

I started out working in a salon, then went mobile, worked out of a barbershop, passed out business cards and flyers and honestly just tried to figure it out as I went.

There were a lot of moments where I questioned what I was doing and whether I was making the right decisions. But every stage taught me something I needed for the next one.

Over the years, I’ve learned so much beyond just doing nails. I’ve learned about boundaries, systems, consistency, customer service, the client experience and what it actually takes to build a business that can grow with you.

Looking back at these clips reminds me just how much has changed.

There’s still so much of this story I’ve never shared, and I think I’m finally at a place where I’m ready to share more of it.

So if you’ve been here for a while, thank you. And if you’re new here, follow along. 🤍

I’m excited for what’s next for MPN.

I wanted to show this up close because when we talk about a structured manicure, I think sometimes people only think about how the nails look from the top.

But I’m looking at the nail from every angle.

From the side, I’m able to see the structure I created with the gel—where the product sits, how the nail is balanced and whether I was able to create strength without making the nail look bulky.

This is also why a structured manicure is different from simply applying gel polish over the natural nail. I’m actually using the product to build and support the nail.

And this is one of those things that’s much easier to understand when you can actually see it up close.

The details you don’t always see matter, too.

E-file services create nail dust, which is why PPE and proper dust management are part of my everyday service routine.

At Masking Perfection Nails, professionalism goes beyond the finished set. It’s also in the environment, the preparation and the standards maintained throughout every appointment.

Beautiful nails are the result. The process matters, too. ✨
