We've had a stretch of nice weather for long enough that I'm getting our pool ready. I wanted to smell like something sweet with some longevity since I will be outside sweating, so I reached for "Amber Woods" from CROWNE & CRANE. It's a nice, sweet, green and woody offering that has a great end to it. I assume "blonde woods" to mean something like Birch or White Oak; either way, this is a great scent that I love all year. Have a great Saturday

This is a delightfully woody, creamy, mildy sweet scent. Moon Soaps has been a favorite of mine since early in my wetshaving days, and "Koa Mahina" is yet another of their offerings that blow my socks off. I had envisioned something tropical and fruity, maybe a different twist on "Santa Cruz". Instead, this is a wonderful and dark set that they describe as "the jungle at night". Sign me up, lol. Love it, guys!

So this was a set I initially passed on when it was re-released. The balm label art was the first iteration, but I figured I had enough fruity scents and for whatever reason, it didn't grab my attention much. Fast-forward a year or two, and Barrister and Mann announced that once this new batch was gone, that was it. By then, it was a soap and splash only; I had missed out on the balm. My tastes had also shifted more towards fruit as well, so I thankfully was still able to get the entire set (although the mismatched labels make my bones itch...).
I've seen a lot of guys compare this to Juicy Fruit and, while I can understand that, it's more like a very tropical V-8 Splash or Fruit By The Foot scent to me. It's very good honestly, and I'm glad I got it. It's like it's pulling itself in two: does it want to be a fruity scent, or a floral? "Passiflora" pulls off both in a really nice way. Hopefully this comes out again. I want the EdP.

"Waterlyptus" is one of those scent profiles that is so unique that, once you read it, it will stick with you until you finally pull the trigger on it. I love fruit fragrances, and I adore Eucalyptus, so this one was a no-brainer for me. It's a perfect balance of sweet and that sharp green we all know. The Peppermint was the icing on the cake. This set has become one of my favorite warm weather offerings.

A family of seven in a smaller Cape Cod house makes for a bit of a personal space sacrifice. As such, I've been going through a lot of our things to put into storage, primarily my junk I've stored and carried with us literally since I moved away from Texas in 2003.
This is a bottle of "Preferred Stock" that I wore in high school and then took with me when I first reported to my Coast Guard unit. If I've done the math correctly, it's about 30 years old and still smells amazing.
I stand incredulous at one of the few things from my distant past that has not changed. I wore a few of the popular colognes at the time, but never really cared about the "hip" stuff and this scent was always a favorite. Now that I have a much, much better insight into fragrances, I have to say that this stuff is just as good as I remember. I haven't smelled it in years. It is almost like a sweet and mildy woody Fougère to me, and it appears to be a branch off of Stetson by Coty. I'm going to buy a new bottle to compare it to this one.
I love reminiscing. Hope y'all are having a great Tuesday. π€π»π₯π€π»

"Rose Gold" from is easily one of my favorite rose fragrances in my den. I am rarely in the mood for a pure, strictly rose scent (though I do like it!) and as such, I appreciate those fragrances that intermingle other notes. This is one such set that does it beautifully. It gives a floral vibe throughout obviously, but it also tosses in a sweet tartness, a bit of a tang, and a woody finish. This set was one of MacDuff's undersellers if memory serves and that's a shame; this is not the average rose scent. Excellent shave with this.

"Shadows And Sandalwood" is my second favorite from after "Liminal". I'd definitely gravitate towards it in Autumn/Winter. Woody notes are my jam, and this scent has it in abundance. It's not in the description, but I swear I sense a fruity note in there as well. This fragrance is every bit as good as anticipated, and performs with that outstanding base that took the shave world by storm. Love it!
Have a great week.
