Emily Renee Barton
I am a mama to my Cerebral Palsy warrior, wife to a smokin' hot fireman, & boss babe who turned my passion into a successful business! Come enjoy the ride!
My goal here is to inspire you to be confident and bold in living out your journey as I share mine with you! Despite how people’s lives look on the internet, no one is perfect & there is such beauty in the imperfect if you allow yourself to see it.
I bet there’s just ONE technique in this tutorial
that could completely change how you apply your makeup.
Just one.
Something that makes you look a little brighter.
A little more lifted.
A little more like yourself.
No special occasion.
No elaborate routine.
Just a real morning.
A few minutes.
And the best version of you walking out the door feeling ready for the day. 💚
That’s exactly why I love sharing these with you. 🫶🏼
Tell me in the comments if you found your one thing you are going to try 🪄
Today I turn another year older and I have to so much to celebrate 🤟🏼
I used to think staying fit was about me. My health. My goals. My discipline.
But somewhere along the way my why shifted completely.
I am a special needs mom. And one of the greatest gifts that comes with that title is that it demands more of me, more strength, more presence, more intentionality than I ever would have pushed myself toward on my own.
My body is not just mine. It is how I facilitate adventure in my daughter’s life. It is how I hold her on a wave. How I steady her on a mountain. How I show up when she needs someone strong enough to say yes with her.
The Lord trusted me with her. I don’t take that lightly.
On my birthday I’m reflecting on what I’ve been given. An able body. A husband who shows up. Four kids who make everything worth it. A life full of hard and oh so blessed moments.
I am so grateful. For all of it.
I almost don’t want to say this out loud.
But I think this might have been the best summer of my life.
Not because of anything fancy.
Just because of them (my 4 babies).
And slow mornings.
And water.
And grace I didn’t earn.
I’m white knuckling the last days and trying to hold it all a little looser.
Because I also know some of you are reading this and this summer was really hard.
Lonely.
Heavy.
Not what you hoped.
I’ve had those summers too.
Some of the darkest days of my life have been in summer.
And what I keep coming back to is this…
God is in both.
The beautiful season AND the brutal one.
Displaying His glory in all of it.
A pastor said something this week that stopped me on a drive:
“Your suffering has purpose. And one of its purposes is to display the works of God. If you’re gonna become great, it’s not probably gonna be through comfort. It’s gonna be through pain.”
— Mark Clark
I want to be used in ALL of it. The comfort and the discomfort. The best summers and the hardest ones.
Holding onto these last days of this season & grateful for the new season ahead 💚
Are you an endless summer kind of girl or ready to get back to routine?
did not consent. 😂🌊
No babies were harmed in the making of this reel… I proved it at the end 😜 just a soft landing in the water where she belongs. 🫧
Fourth child experience is truly something else. If your the baby, feel free to share your own traumas in the comments! 🏴☠️
It took me a second to get on board with this 4PM shower situation.
It is survival strategy for mamas who still have
four+ FULL hours to go. 😅 This isn’t an everyday thing for me, just the days that feel extra challenging or when I am losing it😤
Wash my hair, curl spray, a little bronze glow
and I walked out ready for dinner like a different human.
If you’re hitting that afternoon wall,
this is your sign. 🪧 🚿💚
Mamas what is your midday reset go to!?
Coffee and Jesus are a given.
What else you got!?
Nervous system reset for moms
She has cerebral palsy. She also wake surfs. 🌊
Yesterday our family joined the Just Ride Tour hosted by Malibu Boats and VS Marine Atascadero CA — and what happened on that water is something we’ll never forget.
My husband and our daughter dropped the rope and rode the surf together.
No rope.
Just them, the wave, and the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on her face.
The second she got back in the boat, she asked to go again.
We’ve always believed a diagnosis doesn’t get to decide what our kids experience.
Adaptive skiing. Adaptive surfing. Horses, scooters, adventures of every kind. And now — wake surfing.
To every family out there navigating limitations: keep saying yes. The moments on the other side are worth everything.
Thank you Malibu Boats and VS Marine Atascadero CA for giving our family this gift. 🤍
Thank you Johnny Stieg for the excellent coaching!
15 hours of therapy this week 😮💨 Jax has been working hard in PT, Speech & Feeding with a smile on her face because she just loves her therapists! 🤩💚
Not your typical Mother’s Day brunch… 😅
But possibly might be my favorite one yet.
No cooking.
No cleaning.
Built-in entertainment for the kids.
I think the only thing missing was an afternoon nap!
Happy Mother’s Day Mamas! Best, hardest job in the world!

There are moments in motherhood that feel too big for words.
This is one of them.
9 years ago, we celebrated 15 steps with a walker.
Today, she’s running alongside her friends.
And somewhere in between…
there were prayers, unknowns, setbacks, growth, and more stretching than I could have ever imagined.
My prayer has always been simple:
God, please use every part of her story.
The pain, the progress, the waiting, the victories both past, present, and future.
If it could be a light for even one person…
If it could remind someone not to give up…
If it could help someone believe that progress is still possible—
then it’s worth it.
All of it.
If you are in a season that feels long, keep going 💚
Cerebral Palsy 💚
Standing outside in a swimsuit… in the rain…
to prove a point 😅🌧️👙
You wouldn’t wear the wrong clothes for the weather—
so why are we doing that to our skin?
Your environment matters more than you think.
And once you understand that… skincare gets a whole lot simpler.
I’m officially in my climate curated skincare era and I’m not going back 🤍
