🚨 BREAKING NEWS FROM DOWNTOWN MINOT 🚨

After a highly publicized departure last spring, followed by several unexpected weather-related comebacks, the ReMade Mittens have officially returned to Koselig at 106 for the winter!

You may recall the controversy:
Hope packed them away. North Dakota had other plans. Robyn threw Hope under the bus on social media 🤣
Hope unpacked them. The weather changed.
Hope packed them away AGAIN. Mother Nature won. And the social media posts kept coming.

It was a difficult time for everyone involved. Mostly Hope. 😜

After careful consideration, several emotional support weather forecasts, and absolutely no lessons learned, we've decided to welcome the mittens back for another season.

But all jokes aside…these are the warmest and coziest mittens you will ever own…take it from someone who owns MANY pairs!

Please join us in welcoming back the most controversial accessories in downtown Minot. 😂🧤

Open 11-5 Wed-Fri and 11-3 Sat at 106 Main St S.

P.S. Please direct all complaints about future snowfall to Mother Nature. ❄️🌨️

I don’t often have a lot of vintage glassware on my side of the business, but this piece is a real treasure and I had to share it.

This is a 26” L.E. Smith Bittersweet Swung Vase. It was produced by the L.E. Smith Glass Company in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, primarily between 1960 and 1973 so is very fitting for that mid century modern era decor.

So what makes it unique and interesting?

* The "Bittersweet" Color: The signature color transitions from a soft peachy-yellow or bright yellow at the base into a fiery, sun-kissed, glowing orange.
* Cadmium Content: These pieces often contain cadmium, which can cause the orange-to-yellow glass to glow vibrantly under a black light.
* How They Were Made: Artisans pressed molten glass into a patterned mold (such as ribbed, paneled, or diamond-butt designs) and then physically swung the hot, malleable glass in a centrifugal arc.
* Unique Shapes: Because the pulling and swinging process was done by hand, no two swung vases are completely identical. They stretch out into tall, slender necks with asymmetrical, multi-pointed "finger" or petal openings.

Pretty cool history about a very unique piece that would make a great addition to your home decor collection!

FUN FACT FRIDAY: HOW MINOT BECAME THE MAGIC CITY! ✨

Ever wonder how Minot earned its magical nickname? Spoiler alert: it wasn't magic… it was the railroad🚂

Back in 1886, when the Great Northern Railway reached our neck of the prairie, a tent town sprang up almost overnight. During the winter of 1886–1887, approximately 8,000 railroad workers were based in the Minot area!

Minot grew so quickly that people started calling it “The Magic City.” And just like that, our little prairie town began writing its story.

From railroad workers and early storefronts to the locally owned shops we love today, downtown Minot has always been about more than buildings. It’s about the easy shop owners who took a chance on building downtown. It’s the customers who walk through the doors and it’s about the people who continue to believe in the magic that makes Minot special.

We're pretty proud to be part of that story here at Koselig at 106, where we celebrate local makers, North Dakota treasures, and the little things that make a place feel like home.

YOUR TURN! 👇
If you could travel back to downtown Minot for one day, what would you want to see? The original Main Street? The first storefronts? A particular shop owner? Which store would you love to shop at again?

Tell us in the comments! Let’s take a little trip down Minot memory lane.
