Guide me, Lord

Jesus tried to minister to the people in his town, but they rejected that he was the son of God. They only saw him as the son of a carpenter. There are many other Jews, who were referred to as God's own, who rejected Jesus Christ as the son of God, too. This is how Jesus ended up being crucified. But this did not deter Christ from His mission. He held nothing against anyone who rejected them. He forgave them and prayed that they would be saved.

Being made of men, earthly kingdoms will inevitably be overturned under the might of God. Since all who follow Him are inheritors to an afterlife, it was declared by the Apostles themselves that Christ has made His people kings beyond these earthly empires. After they have all but passed away, only that of the Kingdom of God will remain, unshaken.

All things were created by God. Without Him, nothing would come into being. Jesus was the express image of God, a direct representation of God. He is the light of the world, and this verse is designed to show just how brightly he shined. Through the brightness of His glory and with the power of His words, Jesus forgave all of our sins. This radiance and word has lasted for thousands of years, and has given all of us a chance to rejoice with Him and God in Heaven.

The armor of God isn't a literal, iron-made armor that we have to wear every day. No. The "armor of God" refers to the characteristics, virtues and traits God has equipped us with to defeat the enemy's attempts to bring us down. The enemy is on a mission to discourage and waylay as many of God's children as possible; by "putting one the armor of God" we keep our minds and hearts ready for any trap or weapon we may come across.

Shining as a light for a crooked nation...how apt these words are even today. As Christians, it is our responsibility to live our lives in a dutiful and loving way, WITHOUT complaint. I am not sure which part is more difficult: living in a way true to God's word or doing so without complaining. By doing so, however, you honor the sacrifices made by Jesus and others before you. Their lives would not be lost in vain, and neither will yours.
