Thursday is my usual day with Ms Louise. My wonderful 90 year old client. She attacks her workout with so much enthusiasm where she beats many younger people that I know. She has such a great attitude when we meet up. She is perfect example of what can happen if you keep weight training into your 80s and 90s. I can't stress enough how weight training in your golden years can keep a good quality of life for yourself.
I am not looking for sympathy or likes or ppl to say nice things about me. I am being transparent bc I want ppl to learn from my experience and to take care of themselves.
I experienced some weird feelings in my right shoulder and bicep then my chest then my left side of my neck. I was concerned that I might be having a heart attack so I rushed over to the ER. They took EKG and blood. My blood test showed a high number on the D-Dimer test. Should be 150 or less but mine was over 300. This usually is a sign for a possible blood clot or clot that is dissolving. So they took me in for a cat scan of my chest area to make sure there wasn't anything in my heart or lungs. That was the most area of concern. They didn't see anything. So I was told to follow up with my cardiologist. He told me I was fine and I had nothing to be concerned about. I looked up what can cause my levels to be high. Covid, cancer and surgery
were possible factors for high number on the D-Dimer test. I had all three. My blood numbers could naturally be high. I dont know what my usual number was b4 this test. But I will monitor myself.
Please monitor yourself. If you ever feel something isnt right, go have yourself checked. Your health n life is nothing to play with.

It has been a minute since my last post regarding my post mastectomy surgery update. I saw my Physian Assistant twice and received good report. She says i was healing well and looks like my implants are settling down well. I have to go back one more time in a month or so. This will be about 3 months post operation so my implants will have completely settled in by then. I hope it continues to heal n settle the way it is supposed to.
Since then, I have gone on a vacation to the Dominican Republic for a wedding of my friends and . and I had a very nice time away from the craziness back here in the states. I am going to make sure that we take another vacation away from everything later in the year.
As I was away, I did more reflecting on my life. Spending some time with Sumaiya, and I realize I need to spend more time with my family and friends. Always working to keep my mind going is good but my soul misses many of my friend's company. That will change.
I am happy so far with my results and just pray nothing else happens. Thank to all my friends and family this past year for keeping my mind on straight. You know who you are. Checking in with me no alterior motives. I appreciate you all.
1st actual full week back in the gym. My pull ups weren't the best. I managed 2 sets with 5 reps but couldn't contract my lats at the last 1/4 inch of the rep. I had to go back to using an elastic band to get contraction all the way thru each rep. The rest of my workout was okay. Felt a little stronger but it will take time to regain my strength. Onward n forward...
