Painted in the style of traditional minhwa (민화), Korea's folk art tradition, these scenes depict everyday life from centuries past: women in hanbok swinging beneath ancient trees, children playing in mountain landscapes, a tiger standing proud among pine — a symbol of courage and protection deeply rooted in Korean mythology.

For thousands of years, the tiger has held a sacred place in Korean culture. Known as San-gun (산군), the "Mountain Lord," it was believed to guard villages, ward off evil spirits, and walk alongside the gods themselves.
