This year we’re slowing down and enjoying each season for what it is.
Right now, we’re soaking up summer. The sunshine, the longer days, and all the tropical scents that make this time of year so special. Every season deserves its moment.
But don’t let that fool you. Behind the scenes, fall is already taking shape.
Our Fall Collection will arrive a little closer to fall this year, and honestly…it just feels right.
If you know me, you know I love fragrance. Not just creating it, but experiencing it. Luxury fragrances, indie brands, hidden gems, and yes… even the viral $5 perfumes everyone has been talking about.
I wanted to go into this with an open mind. No bias. No expectation. Just my honest thoughts as someone who genuinely loves scent.
Could they replace a luxury fragrance? Probably not. Did some of them surprise me? Absolutely.
As someone who spends so much time around fragrance, I think it’s important to appreciate it at every price point. A great scent doesn’t have to cost hundreds of dollars to make someone smile.
These are simply my opinions, what my nose picked up, and what I think they remind me of. Fragrance is personal, and that’s what makes it so much fun.

Behind the scenes at ’Ike Loa.
One step you may not know about is what’s called an alcohol bath.
Before we apply labels, every bottle is wiped down with isopropyl alcohol. This isn’t to sanitize the product inside. It’s simply to clean the outside of the container.
During manufacturing and filling, bottles can pick up fingerprints, dust, natural skin oils, or tiny residues from handling. Even a surface that looks clean can have enough residue to affect how well a label adheres over time.
Isopropyl alcohol evaporates quickly without leaving a residue, creating a clean, dry surface so labels bond properly and look their best.
See the one that’s a little underfilled? That’s our tester. We keep one from each batch to make sure the dropper is functioning properly and to have a bottle available for photography, videos, demonstrations, and in store sampling. We never pull from a full retail bottle.
It’s one of those little behind the scenes details most people never see, but it’s all part of the care that goes into every product before it reaches your hands.

Happy Aloha Friday!
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but in the world of fragrance… banana is definitely having a moment right now, and I’m not mad about it!
I’ve been playing around with a banana inspired scent and somehow ended up creating one that I absolutely love. The problem? We definitely do not need another scent right now!
So… my Summer Soirée guests, you’re going home with my newest little concoction next Saturday. I can’t wait for you to smell it!
We are so close, and I hope you’re ready for an amazing evening. I have a feeling it’s going to be one of my favorite events we’ve ever hosted.
