Yesterday was a learning day for myself!
I headed down with my old classmate/bestie to our old school for a CE class on hot stones to learn with one of our old teachers!

When class first started our teacher handed up our packet and had us write a word or a sentence on the back of the paper that explained how we feeI, of course wrote “tired, and excited” as that is exactly what I felt.

Class continued with a lecture, learning the types of rocks that are the best, the temperature that is ideal, and as well as contraindications to be aware of with our clients.
Then we got jumped to the tables for a demonstration and to the. Okay with the rocks themselves, and o do I have so much practice to do! Especially when it comes to gathering the rocks and leaving the client and getting the stone to cool, but to cool where the heat has already left. So much to work on, but to learn and experience hot stones as well for the first time was so much fun.

At the end of the class, our teacher wrapped up the class by going to the beginning, by looking at the words we had written down, then had us pick a rock from a basket with a word, I found the rock with “encouraged” written on it. I can definitely say the rock chose me. While I may have been tired and excited, I felt encouraged that I was back at school WITH my old classmate AND my old teacher, but without them I don’t think I would be the same massage therapist I am today, as they both encouraged me through school, and now when I see them, especially Katherine (whom of course I see the most).
It was a fun and rewarding day

It’s a beautiful day here in Chehalis, especially here at Medical Massage and Acupuncture. The day is slowly starting, the building is starting to buzz with life, and my week is starting!
Did you know that my “Monday” is actually Thursday? Yep you heard that right, I work Thursday-Sunday, offering you sessions throughout the weekend! While my first weekend opening isn’t until October 2ed @ 9am, we do have a cancellation list open and ready, so if the time comes, you will get a surprise call informing you that we have an opening!

Tip of the week: make those appointments!
When booking with a new massage therapist, or maybe getting back to your old massage therapist, it’s better to be safe than sorry to book future appointments instead of just one.
Imagine getting done with your massage and realizing that massage was exactly what your body needed, and you haven’t made any more, but your massage therapist is booked out now! So now you have to wait maybe a month or two till the next opening!
No one wants that!
So book those future appointments! If you find that a certain date doesn’t work for you after scheduling just be sure to cancel your session the moment you know, so that you don’t know show or cancel last minute and your massage therapist can stay busy!
