Thoughts on Aging…

I don’t know how many of you think about aging or worry about how your skin changes over the years, but I was raised in a time when you always tried to look your best. My mom was always trying to stay ahead of the wrinkles that came from getting older and spending hours working in the garden.

I started taking care of my skin as a teenager, but for many years it was mostly trial and error. Then, while living in Ohio, I met some wonderful women who taught me how important it is to choose products that are right for your skin—not just what everyone else is using.

Fast forward 40 years, and after trying several good skincare brands, I’ve finally found a routine that truly works for me. I know I can’t stop the aging process, and I wouldn’t expect to. But I can take care of my skin, feel confident, and look my best at every age.

One of my favorite things is that my routine is simple, enjoyable, and something I actually look forward to each day.

If you’re curious about what I use or have questions about skincare, I’d be happy to share my experience. Just leave a comment or send me a DM—there’s absolutely no obligation. I’d love to help if I can. 💜

I love helping someone find the right products to solve their hair or skin problems!

If you have a dry scalp here are some great ideas for how to correct it:

For a dry scalp, washing your hair 2 to 3 times a week is generally the sweet spot when using a moisturizing system like Monat's Advanced Hydrating Shampoo.
Because dry scalps produce less natural oil (sebum), washing every day can strip away the precious moisture the scalp is already struggling to retain, creating a cycle of further dryness and irritation.

Here is how to get the most out of that routine:

Listen to your scalp: If your scalp feels tight, itchy, or extra dry, try stretching it to twice a week. If you workout heavily or use a lot of styling products, you might lean closer to 3 times a week.

The "Emulsify" trick: Because that specific shampoo is highly concentrated, make sure to rub a dime-to-quarter-sized amount between completely wet palms until it turns white and creamy before applying it to your hair. This ensures even distribution so it cleanses gently without clustering in one spot.

Focus on the roots: Massage the shampoo directly into the scalp to let the hydrating ingredients do their work, and just let the suds rinse through the rest of your hair.
Turn down the temperature: Wash with lukewarm water rather than hot water. Hot water acts like an eraser for the scalp's natural moisture barrier, making dryness worse.

If you are experiencing some issues with your hair, message me and I will guide you to the best solution.

P.S. No obligation to purchase, but I can help you save some money if you do!
