New Zealand • Lake Tekapo & Christchurch • Our last couple of days was us making out way to Christchurch for our journey home. When we left Wanaka, we made our first stop at where we were told we had to grab a ham + cheese croissant. It was the best croissant I’ve ever had, hands down. We then had the beautiful drive to Lake Tekapo, where we couldn’t get a photo or video to show the pure beauty of Mt Cook coming into view. Truly breathtaking.

We got to Lake Tekapo where I saw the most turquoise waters I’ve ever seen and we visited the Church of the Good Shepherd. That afternoon we had a 4x4 tour with which was one of the top highlights of our trip. We had an incredible time driving through the back country and never seeing another soul around for over 4 hours. We stopped for fresh water from a creek and then enjoyed some coffee while just taking in the gorgeous views. It was truly a special part of our trip.

Lastly, we made our way to Christchurch the next day where we had only one day to explore and it wasn’t enough. Definitely wish we had some more time there but we enjoyed walking around and taking the tram around the city.

If you don’t have NZ on your must travel list, you need to add it. One of my favorite countries to date.

New Zealand • Te Anau & Wānaka • We left Milford Sound and my main goal was to make it to Te Anau before closed because I heard they had the best pies in all of New Zealand. We got a steak and cheese and plum apple blueberry and they were both amazing!

We stayed at the cutest little lodge right on the lake, walked around and enjoyed the town some of the amazing views.

The next morning we headed to Wanaka (another stunning drive) where we got to enjoy some more small hikes and another adorable downtown area on the lake.

The highlight might have been this amazing distillery, . What we expected to be a quick stop ended up being a fabulous time. Their drinks were fantastic, brought home a great bottle of gin, and whatnot we thought was going to be some quick bites ended up being our favorite food we had in New Zealand.

I was so stoked to find in the frozen pizza aisle at my local ! I’m always happy any time I can get my hands on a convenient low carb, high protein meal for when I need something quick and easy. I have tried the cheese and beef but can’t wait to get my hands on the buffalo chicken next! Are you also “Team No Cauliflower Crust”? You need to give Zero Carb Lyfe’s Protein Pizza a try!

I never believed it was possible. That this future me existed. I knew it would be hard, and it wouldn’t happen over night. But I also knew I couldn’t quit.

New Zealand • Milford Sound • The drive to Milford Sound was a long but stunning drive. It was close to a five hour drive but with all of the stops and gorgeous views it went by quickly and was so worth it. Tons of great little hikes and views to explore just off the highway.

Once we made it to Milford Sound, we stayed at the only hotel around for hours. I stumbled on early on in our planning and knew I had to stay there one night (check out their IG and you’ll see why). Such a magical place and it was the first time we felt like we got to just relax and just enjoy some time at the lodge. Not to mention, their restaurant on site Pio Pio was so great. Best crème brûlée I’ve EVER had.

The next morning we did a cruise through the sound. It hadn’t rained in 6 days which apparently is a “drought” lol so there weren’t as many waterfalls as usual.

Definitely a must stop when in New Zealand!
