Looking back at this photo, I wish I could go back and hug that version of me.
She was exhausted. Overwhelmed. Trying so hard to do everything “right.” Smiling in photos while quietly wondering why motherhood felt so much harder than she expected.
The reason it feels hard is because it is hard.
Postpartum changes you in ways no one can fully prepare you for. Your body changes. Your identity shifts. Your relationships change. And somewhere in the middle of caring for a tiny human, it’s easy to forget that you need care too.
One of the biggest things that helped me wasn’t finding all the answers. It was finding people.
Therapy gave me a safe place to process everything I was carrying. Community reminded me I wasn’t carrying it alone.
That’s a big part of why I started Wild Heart Mamas. Because no mom should have to navigate motherhood feeling isolated.
