I had many interesting jobs where i was a illegal alien un the nineties and one that was out of the box was being a ' joinie' at the carnival , which is a term which means running a gameshow .
Most people day dream about leaving their homeland for new life , or joining the carnival, but i ended up along with my parrner in crime iessa is doing both awell as going to all fours corners of the vast continent of the USA.
Iessa and i had been enjoying mind altering national parks in Arizona
and was in Phoenix when we someone ended up at the fairgrounds drawn to the Carnival happening. We had a base in Santa Cruz but would rest there coach surfing riding borrowed bikes to coffee shops and agrue with annoying hippies before strapping on back pack and to next adventure and often gone for weeks ot even months at a time .
We had become experts in making the little $$ we made in summer camp and odd jobs last as long as possible and had no overheads like rent or car expenses and would chose to sleep on a ants nest ( which we accidentally did once) over wasting money on hotels and many trunk drivers feed us ,supporting our need to keep exploring this great diverse nation full of parks with ones that resembled such surreal felt like was on the moon 🌙. We walked around the different games and rides when i got my next idea for temporary work . We got chatting with a nice lady at one of the game booths, and she pointed me im direction on the manager . The manager was a very down to earth no bs kind of man and was at first surprised to see two young women dressed in baggy crappy clothes ,with no car asking for work , still he hired us on the spot . Before we knew it, we had aprons on and were behind our own booths and became carnies !
It was hard bloody work ,extremely unglamourous but was a fascinating experience that taught me so.much about people and these hard working people who many had done serious jail time ,took us under their wings with no judgment and we all were equal and a big family of misfits . The hours were brutal 16 hours a day and just commission based . The first spot outside big city we did okay since so much foot traffic ,but cottonwood was a bust we made $10 a day and got quite boring 😴 .
I had the game booth where you had to shoot three cans down with bb guns 🔫 to win a prize of a chessey plastic baseball hat with different team logos on them. It was quite strange for me being from an island where guns aren't permitted to a place where 5 year olds are complaining the guns are ringed. I had many native American kids whose parents were generous and gave them a good amount of cash to enjoy themselves, many were so determined id push a can or two and announce in a excited voice that they won and loved seeing their light up faces when i handed them their cap of choice. I remember we would wake up at 7am, drowned in sweat from early sun, and was so gross . We would go to Taco Bell, get a coffee and breakfast burrito, and have a very needed pigeon bath in bathrooms . My diet was shameful since every evening we would be given free corn dogs left over and woolf them down .
One day, my legs and feet swelled up so much from the insane heat ,i couldn't walk after I'd packed up for the evening . Another joinie helped me by filling up a bucket with ice water, which saved me . Every night, would we sit with the rest of the staff, and i felt such a sense of commuity. I remember how the crew that ran the ride shows worked so hard we barely saw them and when we sloughed down ( cranie term for packing up we would be amazed at all the work they had compared to us ,which was no easy fleet . I remember one ride ie guy loved my feet and gave me a spell book which i carried around for many years , he told me how joining the carnival saved him from himself since he had no time to streer in the wrong direction. I felt so much respect and compassion for him . Too many times whilst at my booth, I'd witness the cops drag away some other Carnie from their loved ones and can still hear their tears and screams of pain cause they had a warrant out for their arrest and were a easy target 💔 . It was a very disturbing, emotionally charged experience that tore at my heart strings since dragged away by bully cops just going out of their way to target a community just trying to survive.. Also, every time we got to a new site, some of us weren't present cause cops again found a way to target them since a conveyor of the hardest worker's.
We did this for a month ,was just meant to be for a week but after we slouged dowm we would be around the fire getting happily drunk and ask if we would join them at next stop and even though we'd said be last time, since so bloody brutal but we'd end up saying yes . Maybe cause we aren't that different from them , doing something outside the box choosing not to conform. So many years, now decades have gone by, and i miss my crazy gypsy adventures, when every day so different and felt so free !

The love of a animal , is so pure and one the nourishes our souls .

I like to thing of myself as a peaceful person , unless pushed to a point where the passive bull in me to a point I feel cornered then you better run 🏃‍♀️. A example of this was when I had been dealing with a horrific situation of a man who turned out to be a violent sociopath and system so failed me that my torrance for male bs was zero . I was on my bike when got a call, so stopped on the kerb to take work call. A man starting yelling at me for riding a bike and being on my phone ! . I had stopped riding bike to take call , and was on call for work so important to take call. I was basically minding my own business, and not doing a damn thing wrong . I told this fool that I wasn't riding , and then he called me a 't**t' guessing he used this choice of word cause he picked up on my UK accent .So now he was getting personal as wellas extremely rude. I remember just seeing red ! I threw my bike down on sidewalk and approached the man . He then starting pointing his finger at my face and called me a' t**t' again , and as a reflex I punched him square in the face . I was practicing Mauy Thai at the time so knew how to use my fist effectively and also the anger increased my power . We were outside city hall and two sergeants, walked down the steps to where we were and asked what was going on since he was ranting like a little hurt baby 👶 , I told officer's that he was harassing me ,when this other skinny annoying very unattractive young man piped in that he saw me hit him ! The police then turned to the other fool asking if he wanting to press charges?? Hearing this, my mind started racing with thoughts of high anxiety, like am gonna to miss my appointment, and then ill have to go to court, etc ,etc. What seemed like longest pause ever , he replied its okay I won't press changes. I think maybe he's little ego told him ,that he's going look pretty stupid in court when he's a victim of a female , punching him for being a little bitch !! .
The officer's then told me not to hit people , after I explained it was a reflex after he was verbally aggressive .I could tell the older Sergeant who had a ti**le in his eye , thought deep down good for you , standing up to that skinny ugly idiot who should wash his hair sometime and have some respect for women .

Soon come , my so dear friend/ sister , few haters told me I have no friends ! Amazes me how mean and wrong people can be

I've always loved nature. Ever since I was a little kid, the natural world has fascinated me and given me a sense of peace. I've always noticed how different every tree is, how beautiful the sound of a bird singing its heart out, a butterfly flitting by, and bees buzzing around the flowers. I would take in all the magic of nature and feel so calm and intrigued.

One of my favorite pastimes was to lie in a meadow, watch the clouds drift by, listen to the sounds around me, and feel completely at peace. Some things never change - I still do this today, and it still feels amazing!
