Have you tried the Mast Y22 Pro at 2V? 👀

I don’t typically work this slow for my machine work because naturally, my hand speed is faster. BUT. Practicing at a slower setting will teach you a lot about control, which is fundamental in PMU 💯

The goal is dots, not dashes • • • • •

On latex, if you’re seeing little commas instead of clean pixels, it means your hand is moving faster than the needle can enter and exit cleanly. On someone’s skin, this would translate to unnecessary trauma 🙅🏻‍♀️

For beginners, here’s a practice tip:
• start at a low (the lowest) voltage setting on latex
• slow your hand down until you can consistently create clean pixels
• gradually increase the voltage and adjust your hand speed
• find a balance that your hands AND your eyes can keep up with ✍🏼👀

The Y22 Pro is wireless, 3.0mm set stroke, has dual operating modes (frequency and voltage), and it’s motor is designed to keep the machine consistent at even the slowest settings of 2v or 3Hz (meaning it won’t stall or stutter). The fact that this machine can efficiently run so slow gives artists the opportunity to slow down, study each pixel, and build intentional movement 💞
