We know how hard it can be hard to know what to say to a loved one who is grieving so here’s a few tips:
• Offer specific help: “Let me know if you need anything” is too generic for those in the midst of grief. Offer to help with specific tasks. This allows the griever to simply accept the help.
• Just show up: Be willing to just be with the person and sit in silence. You don’t need to offer advice or the perfect response. Just be there.
• Remember names: Hearing a loved one’s name is often meaningful to people who are grieving.
Will you join me? Let’s start by doing something hard today. Our brains will thank us for it!
A quick update! We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes, and we’re excited to share more of the journey with you. More updates and behind-the-scenes content are coming soon. Stay tuned!
Little Jen would be so proud!🥰
Not every take makes the cut — but these were too good not to share. 😂

The Pearl Project started with a simple question:
What would I send my therapy clients to support them between our sessions?
Not flowers or a generic gift baskets, but a gift that could provide real support and guidance during life’s big moments.
That vision became these gift boxes.
Created by a therapist, designed for lasting comfort and support.
From my couch to yours,
- Jen
Most people think being a good gift giver is about finding the perfect item.
But, it’s not.
The best gifts start with showing that you are paying attention.
What are they carrying right now?
What challenge are they facing?
What lights them up?
What would help the receiver of the gift feel seen, supported, or understood?
A good gift says:
“I notice you.”
“I’ve been listening.”
“I care.”
The most meaningful gifts aren’t necessarily the most expensive or elaborate. They’re the ones that make someone feel known.
What’s the most thoughtful gift you’ve ever received?
Jumping into the role of being a business owner has been an ongoing personal challenge.
I have had to embrace the vulnerability of being a “beginner” most days and stepping far outside my comfort zone. I’m a clinician by training, so I’m comfortable sitting with people experiencing grief, addiction, divorce, and all the tender, messy parts of being human.
Entrepreneurship, on the other hand, has asked me to become fluent in things I was never trained for — trademarks, tax law, marketing, tech, software, sales strategy, unit economics and operations– yikes!
I don’t like not knowing what I’m doing. I’ll take the messy human stuff over the spreadsheets any day.
