It’s awareness Wednesday! (I’m starting a trend) 😁 but seriously, where ever you choose to go for hair, skin and nails, know what to look for in a salon. Look out for these violations.

💅 A salon that doesn’t look clean. Hair and nail clippings on the floor or dust and debris on the tables, floors, drawers and any other furniture.

💅 The salon is using dusty, dirty nail files, buffers and other tools.

💅 The salon is using product from unlabeled or unmarked containers.

💅 The salon stores their nail files and other tools in a dirty drawer or container also if the salon is using nail files or other tools stored in dirty or contaminated solution. Also important to note, that some solutions are not transparent, but aren’t dirty.

💅 The salon doesn’t cover or place a lid on disinfectant containers.

💅 Restrooms are dirty and unkempt. Lack liquid soap and clean towels.

💅 Nail technicians are using a razor on clients feet to remove a callous or thick skin.

I highly recommend you leave a salon and find another one if you notice any of the above. That salon is in violation of INTA/NMC cleanliness criteria.
