No shade but this happens way too
much 😂. If you’re asking me for my opinion as a wellness professional and author, I assume it’s because you believe I know something about the subject and what you’re doing isn’t working out. So…IJS 🤷🏾‍♂️

“Life comes from the Earth and Life returns to the Earth.”
- Zhuangzi

📸: Daniela Izotenko

Although this quote comes from a Taoism, you will find this truth expressed universally. One of the impactful realization for me in Ayurveda was how verifiable this is when seen through elemental science. The truth of your oneness with the Earth, specifically in a physical sense, becomes real not just a concept. Look at your own skin with attentiveness and see the soil, sands, and clay of the Earth. See the many leaves of the plant kingdom in the impressions of you skin’s texture and imprinting. Feel your bodies waters as you shift and move, notice those that run and those that are still. Pay attention to the spring present within your mouth. Be aware of the warmth of your body and the presence of fire and solar energy within your gut. Notice your breath and the winds which pass in and out of you in rhythmic and pattern. The space and vastness felt internally as you look out at the world and open sky. These are not arbitrary observations but a direct link to your universal nature and oneness with the Planet! This awareness created such a shift in me and was it’s own kind of enlightenment in how I saw the world. It has influence just about every part of my being and work, some of which is shared through my book, “Growing Consciousness”. I encourage you to give this some thought today or next time you’re outside in the elements. You are truly a universal being having a human experience!

Black Walnut Hulls = Plant medicine

As anyone that knows me or my work could verify, I’m big on plant medicine. So when a family friend (S/O Skip Little) offered me his discarded black walnut hulls from his harvest, I jumped right on it! You may recognize this from the supplement aisle at your health store but what you see here is the raw form. After dehydration and grinding it into a powder, we now have enough of this to last for a long time and the best part is it was free! Here’s a list of potential benefits:

* Anti-fungal
* Anti-microbial
* Natural parasite removal
* Increased gut health
* Anti-diarrhea but also acts as a mild laxative depending on the condition of the digestive system
* Great for Cardiac & Respiratory health
* Anti-Cancer (still being researched)

And that’s just the internal uses! Its more common use in the ancient world was as a topical for skin issues, bites, worts, blisters etc. Also you will find this as a tincture. Which I may try next…

**** Not recommended for ingesting for longer than 2 weeks at a time due to potency and powerful cleansing effect on the system ****

I would recommend that anyone interested in trying herbal medicine should check with a health
professional if you feel there is cause for concern. And also research thoroughly before foraging or go with someone that knows what they’re doing. Like most natural medicine, if you treat it with respect you will always be safe.
