Looking through my last students’ photoshoot images and I’m just sitting here like… 🥹 LOOK AT HER.
This is one of my favorite parts of my in-person training because I don’t want you leaving with just a certificate and a bunch of notes.
I want you leaving feeling like you have an ACTUAL BUSINESS to go build.
Day 1 is all about mastering the spray tan side of it — hands-on spraying with models, working with different solutions, understanding the science behind spray tanning, troubleshooting, technique, application and all the little details that build real confidence behind the gun.
But then we have Day 2.
And Day 2 is BUSINESS DAY. 🙌🏼
We talk about pricing, mindset, your ideal client, social media, content creation, how to market yourself, how to actually start getting your name out there and what you need to focus on when you go home.
And then we finish it off with a professional mini photoshoot so you leave with a whole bucket of beautiful content you can actually USE to launch and promote your business.
Because I want you to go home looking established — not like you’re figuring everything out from scratch.
Watching my students get their photos back and seeing how confident and professional they look makes me so freaking happy.
My next 2-Day In-Person Spray Tan + Beauty Business Training is happening in Charleston September 5th & 6th.
✨ Only 3 seats are left.
If you’ve been wanting to start your spray tan business but want more than just learning how to spray… this training was built for you.

Please don’t choose which beauty business to start solely because someone on TikTok told you how much money they made.
Those income claims rarely show the full picture.
How long did it take them to get there?
How much did they invest?
How many slow months did they have?
How much time are they working behind the scenes?
What struggles did they go through before reaching that number?
Instead of asking, “Which service makes the most money?” ask yourself:
What do I actually want my business and lifestyle to look like?
Do you want more recurring clients, a busier schedule and a service people may book regularly? Spray tanning might be your jam.
Do you prefer a higher-ticket service where you can create more of an experience, set the mood and build a whole vibe around the appointment? Teeth whitening could be a great fit.
Neither choice is automatically better.
The best beauty business is the one that fits your personality, your schedule, your goals and the type of clients you want to serve.
I’ve seen too many students choose a service based on someone else’s income claim, only to feel disappointed when their journey doesn’t look the same.
Build the business that makes sense for your life, not the one that looked exciting in a 30-second video.
I actually created a QUIZ to find which fits you best!

I think we talk a lot about starting businesses.
We don’t talk enough about starting over.
Starting over when you already know what it feels like to be successful is a completely different experience.
You’re not a beginner.
But suddenly you’re building new relationships, finding new clients, learning a new market and proving yourself all over again.
It can mess with your confidence if you let it.
I’ve had to remind myself lately:
Just because you’re rebuilding doesn’t mean you lost everything you built.
You still have the experience.
You still have the knowledge.
You still have the lessons.
You still know what you’re capable of.
Sometimes you aren’t starting from zero.
You’re starting again—with a much smarter version of yourself.

Beauty business owners… your services do NOT have to be your only source of income.
One of the biggest shifts I made in my own business was realizing I didn’t have to make more money by simply squeezing more clients onto my schedule.
There are so many ways to get creative with what you already know, the audience you’ve built, the skills you have, and the problems you can help people solve.
And honestly… sometimes the income stream that makes the most sense for you isn’t the obvious one.
In my newest YouTube video, I’m breaking down different ways beauty business owners can start thinking OUTSIDE the service room and create additional income streams.
If you’ve been wondering, “Okay… but what else could I actually do?” — this video is for you.
🎥 Head over to my YouTube channel to watch the full video!
And if it gives you an idea for your own business:

Your business can be bigger than your appointment book.
Would I start a spray tan business again after eight years in this industry?
Honestly… NO
Well, let me explain.
I would start with teeth whitening first, and then add spray tanning as I built my confidence.
Spray tanning is a skill. It takes practice to learn your technique, understand different bodies and skin types, troubleshoot results and feel completely confident behind the spray gun.
And while you’re learning all of that, you’re also trying to figure out marketing, social media, pricing, networking and how to actually get clients through the door.
Teeth whitening can be an easier service to start with because the appointment follows a much more consistent, step-by-step process. It can give you a way to enter the beauty industry, start working with clients and build your business without feeling like you have to master everything at once.
You can also market teeth whitening to both women and men, which immediately opens up your potential client base. Plus, people love booking whitening appointments with a friend, partner or family member.
My strategy would be:
Start building clients with teeth whitening.
Learn how to market and network locally.
Practice spray tanning as I go.
Then offer both services once I feel confident.
Less pressure, more opportunities and the best of both worlds.
Would you start with spray tanning or teeth whitening first? 👇

Spray tanning or teeth whitening—which one should you start?
The honest answer is: it depends on the kind of business you want to build.
Spray tanning usually has a lower startup cost and stronger repeat-client potential. Clients may return for vacations, weddings, photoshoots, events or simply because they love how a tan makes them feel.
Teeth whitening usually requires a larger upfront investment, but it also allows you to charge more per appointment. The service is more structured, although clients may not need to return as often.
One may give you more frequent appointments.
The other may give you more revenue per appointment.
Neither service automatically creates a more profitable business. Your success will depend on how well you learn the service, market it locally, create a great client experience and stay consistent.
Do not choose based only on which one makes more money per appointment.
Choose based on your budget, your personality and the type of business you can genuinely see yourself growing.
Which would you choose: spray tanning, teeth whitening or both?
Morning Affirmations
Have a great day ✌️
If I had a $2,000 budget to start a spray tan business, I wouldn’t spend every dollar trying to build the biggest starter kit possible.
First, I would invest in a detailed training that includes GREAT mentorship.
You’re not just paying someone to teach you how to hold a spray gun. You need someone who can help you troubleshoot, answer questions, guide you through difficult clients and continue being a resource months—or even years—after your training is complete.
The second place I would invest my money might surprise you…
I would spend it with other local business owners.
Book a service. Buy a product. Purchase a gift certificate. Attend their event. Support what they’re building.
We have to realize that sometimes we need to give a little before we ask for so much from other beauty professionals.
You can’t walk into someone’s business asking them to promote you, refer their clients or collaborate with you when you’ve never taken the time to support them.
Those genuine relationships can turn into referrals, collaborations, friendships and lifelong connections within your local community.
Your first $2,000 shouldn’t just help you buy equipment.
It should help you build the knowledge, support system and local relationships that will continue growing your business long after that money is gone.
What would you spend your first $2,000 on when starting a spray tan business? Tell me below. 👇

One of my favorite highlights of Day 2 during my in-person spray tan training in Charleston is our student photoshoot.
I don’t want you leaving with only a certificate and a head full of information. I want you to go home feeling confident, prepared and excited to show up as the professional business owner you are becoming.
During the photoshoot, my students get professional-grade content they can use to introduce themselves, promote their services and begin building trust with future clients—without having to figure out what to post after training.
And, of course, I get to highlight some of my favorite spray tan businesses at the same time.
This is so much more than learning how to spray tan. It is about helping you leave with the technique, business knowledge, confidence and content you need to start showing up.
My next in-person spray tan training in Charleston is September 5th & 6th.
