Clean Soap. Clean Skin. Clean Earth. I decided one day that I really wanted fruit trees, but I needed to clear my land. It was... interesting!

I wanted to clear it in a sustainable way so I looked into goats. I found a mama that had just given birth 4 days before and so we drove to get her. We watched many YouTube videos on the care of goats and how to milk them. When we started my older daughters and I were milking on a little tykes picnic table. My son and I watched some more YouTube videos on building a milking stand. We figured out how to convert their old wooden playground into a milking stand and voila, milking became much easier! One day we thought, “we could make soap!” So, more YouTube videos! We made our first couple of batches and it was so fun! We gave them to family and friends to test and they all loved them. I tweaked my recipe and learned as much as I could. I couldn’t do it without my daughters who faithfully wake up early, everyday, without complaint, to help me milk. They all take turns helping make each batch and always come up with the design. We so look forward to getting a new box of scents. It has created an amazing opportunity to bond with them. Wild Goat Soap is a true family endeavor. If you’re still reading this you get to hear the irony of this whole story... the goats have broken out several times and eaten down a lot of those fruit trees! Thus, Wild Goat Soap is the name!

My cute parents started dating over 50 years ago. They keep my Wild Goat shelf stocked at Perrines Produce in NSB, and today my mom texted me pictures from their morning beach walk and the freshly restocked shelf. A sweet little glimpse of their morning and all the love behind my small business.

Not only is Joanna sweet and a great milker (when I saw her my first thought was - “I like big udders and I cannot lie!”) she’s also gorgeous. Seriously, model.

I was (am) a nerd and I LOVED books, grammar, words, plays, and musicals. I memorized hundreds of poems alone in my room rocking out to Les Mis, Phantom, and my all time favorite sonata, Moonlight Sonata. I loved these two authors and in my head, these candles are what they would smell like.

Florida has been either blazing hot or pouring rain and this morning… the air feels glorious. Hawthorne said it best, “This weather just gives me so much more energy.” The 5 soccer games this weekend should be much more enjoyable.

Music and scents live in our memories, in our souls. Both can both instantly transport us to specific times in our lives. I have found candles to be the answer to many of life’s problems. Need a good cry, light a candle. Want to relax? Candle. Are you reading a good book or watching a movie? Candle. Want inspiration to clean, or a reward for cleaning? Candle. Need to study? Candle. Want some romance, light a candle. You’re welcome.

Lately in the mornings on the way to milk, I can feel there’s a change in the air. Could it be… is fall really on its way? At the very least, it can smell like fall. 🍁

These two helped me deliver to Emerald Island Garden Center after their dentist appointments today. I was told to stop singing multiple times while jamming out to this song.

No matter how old he gets, he’ll always be my baby. Also, this tournament is blazing hot!
