Cactus, juma, and brain coral. Three materials that have no business being on the same handle, and yet.

The cactus is stabilized, its voids filled with crushed brain coral. The juma runs deep blue with movement in it. Between them, a band of brain coral, whole this time. Tiffany blue G10 pins tie it together.

The blade is Vegas Forge stainless Damascus, Fireball pattern.

Today we’re celebrating 250 years of freedom, independence, and the American spirit of craftsmanship.

This special BBQ slicer is my tribute to that legacy. Handcrafted from Nitro V stainless steel, it features an 11-inch blade paired with a stunning maple burl handle, accented by red, white, and blue G10 liners and brass Corby bolts.

While I was at Blade Show Atlanta this year, I met BW Knives . Their table was right behind ours, and over three days we had a great time talking knives, business, and life. One of the things that stuck with me was that they track the states where their knives have found homes. I thought it was a really cool idea, so I decided to start doing the same. Thanks for the inspiration!

I dug through my shipping records and put together this map showing the states where I know a Steel Dog knife has landed.

It’s pretty amazing to see just how far these handmade knives from my shop in Tomball, Texas have traveled. Every highlighted state represents someone who chose to support my work, and I truly appreciate every one of you.

That said… I know this map isn’t complete.

I’ve sold a lot of knives in person at knife shows over the years, and I don’t always know where those customers call home.
